Wait....

This is the first time they have ever been past the first round? That is crazy.

Playoff choke, they should have done it before now.

Huh? Sharks have made it past the first round before. They just can never make it past the Semis.

Farthest the Sharks have gone in 12 attempts was the Western semis, and lost to the Flames.

My brother is a Sharks fan, I told him the team was going to have to relocate to Ontario with the other teams that choke so hard in the playoffs.

Well, they have a good chance of making the West Finals this year. The Red Wings are about as consistant as a kid with adhd off his meds.

He has the puck, driving to the goal... wait... what's he doing? He's stopped to look at his stick. Now, he's pretending its a gun and 'shooting' the other players... Unbelieveable folks!

It's because the Red Wings are evil. They are the reason behind all sorts of unsavory things. Global Warming? Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Idi Amin's strange eating habits? All due to the Red Wings. They're like the Illuminati, only far more evil.

Amusingly enough, my uncle was actually scouted by the Wings back when he was in college. Had an unfortunate accident though, stepped into a snow bank, onto a broken bottle, and severed his achilles tendon.

Ahhh, but they're evil that makes you feel good.
I just hope that the team that played last night is the team that plays the Sharks.
Go Wings!

Ugh, I'm just running out of teams I want to watch this year in the playoffs. Usually there's one that I can at least tolerate, but outside of the Penguins, well, can't stand 'em.

At least the Sabres are out. That's a plus.

Much <3 for the Penguins, but the Wings are, you know...the Wings! :)

Dude, we have the best defenseman in the league.

He may be old but he is far from tired.

Did anyone see game 7 Habs/Caps last night? Hot damn, Halak was on fire. Apparently, President's Trophy means first round exit. At least the last 2 years.

President's Cup always seems to have a small curse attached to it.

That, and the Jack Adams.

Though the year the Stars won the Cup, they also took the President's Trophy.

Any Sabres fans, keep your mouths shut. It's over 10 years ago, the League made an unpopular decision, and it's over. :P

As to that, had the rule that year been "Everybody except Brett Hull has to be entirely out of the crease when shooting", I wouldn't have a problem with it. But it wasn't. And I'm saying that as somebody without a horse in the race, even, as my hometown team is the Blues, as someone who is kindly disposed of towards Brett Hull.

Yeah, it shouldn't have been a goal, but it went all the way to Toronto, and it must have been past their bedtime. I can't remember the exact phrasing of it, but was basically determined that the initial shot came from outside of the crease and Hull "wasn't fully in the crease".

But really, I've seen more retarded plays that were called as good goals, including what most folks would refer to as goaltender interference, etc.

That wasn't to bad of an opening game for the Wings though. San Jose is a tough place to play a road game and they did well to fight back from being down 3 goals. Keep the faith :)

I'm rationalizing it by saying the three goals in 79 seconds was a fluke and nothing like it will ever happen again, yup that's my story.

Damn DirectTV doesn't carry Versus any more! I don't get to watch the games, have to listen on the radio!

That's more a symptom of the NHL being retarded and having their TV contract with Versus.
