So... I know nothing about this movie other than 1) it's opening today, 2) it's 75% fresh at RT, and 3) my friend says it looks good.

Anyone planning to go see it?

Here. The red band trailer is awesome. Looks to be a very good movie.

Phe and I will, but there are already a couple of films in theaters right now that we'd like to see (Kick-Ass, Clash of the Titans, and possibly How to Train Your Dragon a second time spring to mind), and I don't know when we'll get around to 'em. :(

Heard nothing but great reviews for Kick-Ass, though.

I have.

That isn't to say it isn't something I want to see eventually, just that based on the negative reviews I've seen, the best parts are Nic Cage and the little girl. They are, however, allegedly, islands in a sea of mediocrity.

Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times says that it may or may not be a sign of the end of civilization as we know it. But, he did like it.

I really enjoyed this. It was the most fun I've had at the cinema for a long time; now, it is not a great film, like say, Gran Turino was, but it is a very funny, very enjoyable mayhemfest.

Rosie didn't enjoy it at all though. Interestingly she loved kill bill, and I thought it was dull, and they are , in character, kind of similar films, especially the o ren ishi part

Suineko has it, the movie is a silly enjoyable mayhemfest. Parts of it are a simple teen coming of age movie, parts are very different. I enjoyed it.

It stands alone as a movie, though it set itself up for a sequel. I hope they don't make one unless they get a great script for it.

I really liked this movie!!!

Hit girl kicks *** and Nicolas Cage doing his superhero voice had me rolling!

It's like zombieland for comic books. Not quite as good as zombieland but still worth watching at least once. I'd definitely watch it again...might be worth a purchase after that. Overall a hilarious kick*ss movie!

This movie is so aptly titled. And it's a remarkably good transcription from page to screen.
