Spoiler:
I think Jack was right about the bomb. Sawyer's lack of faith cost the three lives. However, I think that Sun and Jin will live happily ever after in the sideways timeline. I haven't even a speculative clue as to Sayid's ultimate fate.

I really liked Jack in both timelines last night. If he can keep this up until the end of the season he just might make it back on to my short list of favorite characters.

Next episode explains
Spoiler:
How smokey was created, how the frozen donkey wheel came to be, how Jacob and MiB came to the island, how rules are decided, how you become the island's "protector"

and one other thing :p

Spoiler:
Agree with this. I had been thinking about all day and just got off the phone with LK to see if that's how she saw it. Had Sawyer left it alone, they would have been fine because it was the MiB that set them up the bomb. But once he started fooling around with it because he didn't trust Jack, then it was on him.

I wish they hadn't panned to the backpack when Locke and Jack were still on shore. I knew as soon as they did that he had switch the packs. Would have been nice to be a little more surprised I guess.

Yeah, he has really been solid this season.

Jack must have come a long way to earn praise from anyone. I'm still catching up on the episodes (currently on season four), but as of now I can't stand Jack.

Spoiler:
I cried manly tears for Charlie's heroic death, so I can relate to your sadness Nitefox.

Yes, Jack was a whiney punk a good bit but I think because of that, you really have an appreciation for him now.

Spoiler:
And yes, Charlie dying was tough as well. I loved his "Greatest Hits List" episode
.

Marcellus Wallace's soul.

Nothing crazy? Were we watching the same episode?

I mean while there was new info and some "ohhhhh", nothing really surprised me.

Yeah me too. I'm past the point of even being able to post about this show because I'm so confused and what question leads to another. This is one of those shows that I can really only discuss in person in real time. Love it.

My main question is:

HOW THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO SUM THIS UP IN THREE HOURS?

One new episode and the season finale! That's it!!!

Although, I must say I loved the new episode. I kept expecting them to jump into "lost present day" and then it ended. Explained one of the oldest questions from the series. Good stuff!

I fear the foreshadowing of the woman known as Jacob's mom's comment:
"Every answer I give will lead to another question."

Excellent!

Still, how are they going to sum it up in 3.5 hours! So many questions! ;)

LK's theory - That Locke kills everyone on the island. That's why Desmond is getting everyone together in the alternate life. Some way to have another go at it.

Me - I think the "good" Locke is going to have to do something and that will affect the "bad" Locke. That's why Desmond keeps messing with him.

But as to last night...

Spoiler:
That was brutal when Locke just cut that chicks throat and I was disappointed that Widmore kind of went out without much fanfare. And Linus....just when I thought I could trust the guy, he does something else to make you think that this guy is just rotten to the core. No surprise that Jack took up the role as protector of the island. I told LK that Richard was going to get killed when he didn't go with Miles. Not sure if he is dead, but I wasn't surprised he was attacked.

Spoiler:
Yeah, I was disappointed at the way Richard and Widmore both exited last night. Linus is back to being a douchebag evil guy....he'll prolly take over if something happens to Jacob's brother. Jacob seems a little creepier these days, so not really sure what's up with that....guess cause we got to see the real Jacob last time. No surprise at all that Jack is taking his place. When Jacob's brother (why have they not given him a name this whole time???) said what Widmore had said, and with Desmond in the alternate reality appearing to do Jacob's job, it makes me think yeah Flocke does succeed in blowing up the whole island but Desmond succeeds in going back in time (cuz he is good at that) and getting everyone back on the island again. Kind of like the end of The Devils Advocate, where if the desired outcome is not achieved, history repeats itself over and over and over for all eternity. That's how I think this is all gonna play out.
Oh, and a little random, but I absolutely love what Jacob said to Kate when she asked why her name was crossed out. My favorite line of last nights episode.
