Don't know anything about the character so I won't comment. But I know people here are fans of Fillion so I thought I'd share.

Ah, Hank Pym...

Hank Pym is being hailed as the Scientist Supreme (the scientific Doctor Strange) in recent Marvel canon.

He is more inclined to biological solutions than either Reed Richards or Tony Stark, but he's also a robotics expert with few equals, save perhaps Victor von Doom, and he's far better versed in physics than Hank McCoy.

He's famously Ant-Man, more famously married to Janet Van Dyne, AKA The Wasp, and most famous for a mental breakdown and spousal abuse.

He gave us Ultron, Pym particles (which allow him to carry his vehicle in his pocket, for example, as well as become Ant Man and Giant-Man), and more.

Solid B list Avenger, but a complex one.

Khross will be furious, if true. Clicking the link now to see if the contributing evidence is vague enough to be misattributed from what he really wants or not.

Fillion needs to be Clint Barton. Hank Pym, I might accept ... maybe ... depending on the scripting; but, most likely, this will cause me to hate all things Whedon.

Hank Pym in the Ultimates universe (especially animated Ultimates) is fairly hot headed and Barton like.

Janet Pym: You know what, Hank: I'm done with this. I'm done massaging your ego, I'm done defending you to everyone, and I'm done supporting you.
Hank Pym: Supporting me? You have been holding me back.
Janet Pym: [Black Widow offers her a gun] Oh, don't tempt me.

Nick Fury: Just show me what you got, Hank.
[Hanks grows into Giant Man]
Giant Man: Never underestimate pretentious lab jockeys, Fury.

[referring about Thor]
Giant Man: Who's the chick with the hammer?
Iron Man: Whoever she is, I'm glad she's on our side.

[in a battle with the Hulk]
Giant Man: You're still a little man, Banner. Now, knock it off or I'm gonna squish you.

And Rockwell was considered for Pym by fans, so if Pym is written with the same wit as Hammer, it could be quite good.

I could buy Rockwell as Pym.

Yeah, I just don't see Fillion playing a wife-beating hardass lab failure who gets lucky on occasion.

I could. He's got range beyond "snark." That doesn't mean I wouldn't rather see him snarking, but...

But.. does this mean you're turning down a chance for *more* Nathan Fillion? I mean, if he played Giant Man, that's like getting a hundred Nathan Fillions!

Oooh. Nathan Fillion as Madrox.

I would turn down this Nathan Fillion, yes.

As Madrox... huh. This is a more interesting idea. Let's try that first.

Not sure how I feel about it. Nathan Fillion has never really shown me he has a very wide range when it comes to acting ability.

There's not a doubt in my mind that Fillion could play Hank Pym, and pull it off incredibly well.

That doesn't mean I want him to do it...I'd just much rather retain him as "snarky fun guy," rather than "******* wife-beater scientist guy."

This.

If you are going to make him an avenger, give him Hawkeye or The Black Knight.
