The Glade 4.0

The professor assigned a paper today. She assigned a self reflection paper; we need to find five words we would use to describe ourselves and how this self perception has been reinforced or how it is inaccurate, and how it is communicated to us and others.

We have been provided with a way to submit our papers and have them anonymously graded, and they do not need to be read to the class. I hate this whole bullshit idea of self reflection.

Every time it comes up it leads to the same gorram conclusion. I end up completely **** depressed unable to sleep for 3 or 4 days, and for the same **** reason....

THERE IS NO REASON I SHOULD FEEL THE WAY I DO:

My parents did not abuse me
My parents provided me with what I needed to survive
My parents loved me

ooh, waaaaaa... they did not do everything my heart desired, waaaa.
I did not get the guitar I wanted.. waaaaa big deal. I had parents who I have come to realize were a lot smarter than I gave them credit for, and they kept my head where it needed to be.

But I still lead to the fact that I envy the people around me and what they have. I have somehow led myself to believe that I am less than the people around me, etc. I gave myself an inferiority complex and no matter how much I try to rid myself of it, I cannot shake it.

Every mental FUBAR I have is not only self inflicted, but more likely self delusional as well.

I hate these assignments.

Sure there is: society is principally structured at this point against critical thinking and personal accountability/responsibility.

As somebody who believes in both of those, you are therefore up against society every day when it comes to following your moral principles. That is depressing by its nature.
