Still having a blast. I mentioned before that this game requires you to keep a sharper eye out for details and distinctions. It's still ringing true as there are many subtle details. But, here are some small tips I've discovered that will help in certain ways.

Spoiler:
- Lawmen out in the wild generally wear white or lighter colored hats. So you're generally safe if you start blasting the darker-hatted fellows (if you want to be on the side of good, that is).

- To (somewhat) quickly distinguish your horse in a crowd, your saddle is slightly different than average (and has a bedroll and saddlebag attached). If you steal a new horse and keep it, it won't change to the unique saddle until after it's reloaded (after a save or a mission or something).

One thing I've discovered: Strangers need to stop asking me to help them save their wives from being lynched by a gang. To date, it has never ended well for the husbands. It's kind of funny, in a way. It's not for lack of trying on my part. But the more I unintentionally screw it up, the more funny it gets. The last time I "helped" I was thinking, "OK I need to kill the bad guys super-duper fast this time." And I do. But then as I approach the wife who strung-up, I accidentally spook the horse and it takes off out from under her, killing her instantly. These guys would likely have better luck storming the gangs on their own.

I've had funny stuff with that as well Numbuk. It really makes the game so much better to have those little things.

Also, pro tip. It may not be the best idea to begin having a shoot out while in the middle of the street. I literally got ran over by a speeding carriage mid fight. :(

Hogtying a couple of whore's in the saloon causes interesting reactions. Just saying.

Oh, and one other thing:

Tried the two nearby stores to for rent, none in. Will keep trying. Not in a fiscal position to be making $60 purchases on video games right now.

Isn't that the truth. They sure can kill a horse before you can even realize what's going on. :(

Spoiler:
After landing in Mexico the first time and then riding towards Chuparosa: by far one of the best moments in gaming I've ever had. Totally was not expecting that, and it was the perfect tone and mood and fit beautifully into the game.

This game is easily one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I'm now starting to get into the free roam multiplayer and it is absolutely incredible.

Thanks guys.

Seems the youtube community is going nuts for RDR footage. They quickly got more views then most of my BFBC2 footage. LOL

Definitely up for some free roam or anything else with you guys. Gamertag is in my sig, obviously. lol

The Westen genre is far from a favorite of mine and I am no place to buy a new game currently.

That being said, I must have this game and I may activate my free one month Xbox live membership for multiplayer. What an awesome looking game.

Some Player V Player shootouts.

@Lenas,

Thanks! It was a lot of fun. There just so much to do in free roam, I haven't even bothered with ranked matches yet.

@Foamy,

The western genre wasn't much of a favorite of mine either. But R* sure figured out how to deliver hours of pure enjoyment on this one. I'm going to be stunned if if this doesn't win Game of the Year.

Is there much difference between the PS3 version than the 360?

From what I've read, there actually is, the graphical processing is quite a bit better on the 360, and because the PS3 runs at a lower resolution, 360 basically stomps it.

Found the comparison post I had read - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=21355476&postcount=704

How do you record game play like that?

Uinan:

Your vids are driving me crazy...

I soooo want this game now; I believe you when you say how much fun it is. I gotta save up a few dollars for this, or hope for it for Father's day.

Keep them coming, they're great.

I always check Lens of Truth to compare multi-console games.
