My cousin is coming over tonight which means her, my wife and I will stay up till unreasonable hours shooting the ****; maybe even my daughter depending on how social she's feeling. She's staying overnight. I'm making steaks with avocado salsa for dinner.

Tomorrow we're all going to the parade. My older daughter is in it; she plays Clarinet in her HS band. The younger one loves the parade, and my wife and I do to. Cousin is going too, and then tomorrow afternoon we're grilling out and our neighbor across the street is coming for dinner. I'm making Bratwursts with peppers and onions sauteeed in beer on the grill.

Thursday - worked all day, got off work and went to see sister-in-law graduate high school

Friday - worked all day, got off work and went to see relatives about 30 miles away, had Frito pie for dinner

Saturday - went to a flea market (which I quickly found out was indoors, and thus I stayed in the car for 97% of it), drove out to the middle of nowhere to see ancillary family to kill time, and went to see brother-in-law's Master's Commission showcase thing

Sunday - lazy day spent trying to track down an iPad while Phe takes sister-in-law to the TN Ren Faire as a graduation present

Monday - rest and relax and spend time with Phe, probable dinner and Prince of Persia that evening

If friends help you move...
And good friends help you move bodies...
What sort of friends help you move a friend whom you're stuck in friendzone with?

Just grilled some rib eye. Sautéed onions, mushrooms, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Macaroni Salad and washed it down with a pair of ice cold beers.

The Katii helped me move a friend out of her storage units this weekend. In spite of being teased cruelly by his wife and myself, Katas kept us moving and organized. I am grateful, they showed themselves to be very good friends this weekend. I rewarded them with good burgers yesterday and great pizza today.

Yes, I am in the friends zone with the lady in question. She's good people, was a very good friend of my late wife, and has been a friend to me for around 30 years. We just are too far into the friends zone to turn the corner to anything else.

Backstory, after a series of really nasty setbacks, she had entered the Great Big Depression Zone. I've been nudging and tugging her to get her life back. It seems to be working. The Katii have impressed her as very nice people.

Note 1: Katas is easily distracted by cats.

Note 2: I don't think the Katii are crushing on me desperately.

Went to an SCA camping event outside of Albany with my whirling dervish and bf. As of this morning, I still have said bf. *grin* (My daughter can be a handful sometimes.)

This morning she wrote us a letter that said "I love you Mommy and <bf''s name> you are the best."

Today was supposed to be a cookout, but the girl is playing at the neighbors' house, and I'm pretty exhausted from the rest of the weekend. The 85- to 90-degree heat during the day plus the 50-degree nights just killed me.

*ughhh*

Getting rained out through 9 of 18 holes at a pristine local golf course that costs a ton to play at. My dad and I got half of our money's worth. It was great until we had lightening hitting close to us.

Given the weather forecasts the past few days, I'd count yourself lucky you got 9 in.

Friday, drove to St. Louis. Monday, drove back to Mississippi. Something happened in between but I'm fuzzy on the details.
