That was my first guess Rynar, given the "know nothing" hint, but Fillmore wasn't speaker of the House, so I thought maybe the clue refered to the speech Harrison gave, and the resulting short term as the link to the "know nothing", though due to lack of time in office, not the political party.

You may have. Not finding any irregularities between the terms of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, and he was the only Tom. Technically, every Vice President sworn in before the President is acting President ofr those few minutes, so you may be referring to George Clinton, but it is not a unique situation.

I would guess whoever it is that swore in Jefferson, but I don't know who that was. I thought Adams was the only one to not swear in the next President.
