On another forum's media section, someone was trying to say that Revenge of the Sith was better than Return of the Jedi, "because ewoks are about as horrible as Jar Jar," and Jar-Jar appears far less in episode 3 than Ewoks do in episode 6.

The only thing that might make the Ewoks worse than Jar Jar is that they came first, and destroyed so much of what was good and right about the first two movies. But, given the example of the Ewoks, Jar Jar should never have seen the light of day, so it may well rank as the more egregious mistake.

I don't mind ewoks. But it's probably because my earliest memories of the Star Wars trilogy, I was the the audience the Ewoks were aimed at. However, I was 16 when Episode 1 came out and Jar Jar(and the gungans as a whole, but mostly Jar Jar) did not appeal to me because I wasn't...you know, 4.

The problem with Jar Jar is that he is a doofus. Had he been all moody and a kick *** fighter it wouldn't have been a problem.
