The 50 U.S. States and their capitals
Sung to the song "Turkey in the Straw"

Baton Rouge, Lousiana,
Indianapolis, Indiana, and Columbus is the capital of Ohio;
there's Montgomery, Alabama, south of Helena, Montana;
then there's Denver, Colorado, under Boise, Idaho

Texas has Austin, then we go north, to massachusetts, Boston,
and Albany, New York; Tallahassee, Florida, and Washington, D.C.,
Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Nashville, Tennessee.

Elvis used to hang out there a lot, ya know

Trenton's in New Jersey north of Jefferson, Missouri,
you got Richmond in Virginia, South Dakota has Pierre;
Harrisburg's in Pennsylvania and Augusta's up in Maine,
and here is Providence, Rhode Island, next to Dover, Delaware

Concord, New Hampshire, just a quick jaunt,
to Montpelier, which is up in Vermont;
Hartford's in Connecticut, so pretty in the fall,
and Kansas has Topeka, Minnesota has St. Paul

Juneau's in Alaska and there's Lincoln in Nebraska,
and it's Raleigh out in North Carolina, and then there's
Madison, Wisconsin, and Olympia in Washington,
Phoenix, Arizon, and Lansing, Michigan

Here's Honolulu, Hawaii's a joy,
Jackson, Mississippi, and Springfield, Illinois;
South Carolina with Columbia down the way,
and Annapolis in Maryland on ChesapeakBay

They have wonderful clam chowder

Cheyenne is in Wyomin' and perhaps you make your home in,
Salt Lake City out in Utah, where the Buffalo roam;
Atlanta's down in Georgia, and there's Bismarck, North Dakota,
and you can live in Frankfort in your old Kentucky home

Salem in Oregon, from there we join,
Little Rock in Arkansas, Iowa's got Des Moines;
Sacramento, California, Oklahoma, and its city,
Charleston, West Virginia, and Nevada, Carson City

That's all the capitals there are!

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, lock him up real tight
Throw away the key and then
Turn off all the lights

First, we're going to set some bait
Inside a nasty trap and wait
When he comes a-sniffing we will
Snap the trap and close the gate

Wait! I've got a better plan
To catch this big red lobster man
Let's pop him in a boiling pot
And when he's done we'll butter him up

Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Throw him in a box
Bury him for ninety years
Then see if he talks

Cuz Mr. Oogie Boogie man
Can take the whole thing over then
He'll be so pleased I do declare
That he will cook him rare

I say that we take a cannon
Aim it at his door and then
Knock three times and when he anwers
Sandy Claws will be no more

You're so stupid, think now
If we blow him up into smithereens
We may lose some pieces
And the Jack will beat us black and green

Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Tie him in a bag
Throw him in the ocean
Then see if he is sad

Because Mr. Oogie Boogie is the meanest guy around
If I were on his Boogie list, I'd get out of town

He'll be so pleased by our success
That he'll reward us too, I bet

Perhaps he'll make his special brew
Of snake and spider stew
Yummm!

We're his little henchmen
And we take our job with pride
We do our best to please him
And stay on his good side

I wish my cohorts weren't so dumb
I'm not the dumb one
You're no fun
Shut up!

I've got something, listen now
This one is real good, you'll see
We'll send a present to his door
Upon there'll be a note to read
Now, in the box we'll wait and hide

Until his curiousity
Entices him to look inside
And then we'll have him
One, two, three

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, beat him with a stick
Lock him for ninety years, see what makes him tick

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, chop him into bits
Mr. Oogie Boogie is sure to get his kicks
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, see what we will see
Lock him in a cage and then throw away the key

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

I get words stuck in my head sometimes.. Anyone else?

For like two weeks I had the word Asperbergers in my head. Last week it was Zoe Saldana. Not even her.. (cause that would have been awesome) just her name.

I'm busy listening to the new Eminem cd, and I must say it's a vast improvement over his past two albums. (It's not out...it just leaked less than a week ago)

I occasionally exhibit signs of OCD and one of my more common experiences is counting while walking or mentally repeating a long word or short phrase while matching the syllables to my footsteps.

Dying of curiosity here: did you actually have "Asperbergers" stuck in your head, or is that a typo?

Sometimes I am a little quick on the off the wall comments, spoilered for sickness.

Spoiler:
Just a little typo, Asperburger, it is a new dish on the menu at Longpork's.

"Starry-Eyed Surprise"

Hey DJ!
Tonight..stars
Tonight I’m seein stars
Tonight..stars
Tonight I’m seein stars
Tonight..stars
Tonight

Once again
I found myself with my friends
Dancin the night away
It’s like the party never ends
Then again, we don’t want it to stop
‘Cause tonight’s the night
It goes sweat box, laser beam, flashin lights
Wild cards, men from Mars
Dressed in stars and stripes
Eclectic Electric
Ladies at the evenin
Drinkin booze and mingilin
Mashin through the music
I can do anything
Freaky deaky, star speckles and pink butterflies
And life is nice, so nice
I walk into a club and I found paradise
I’m seein stars, I can’t believe my eyes
I’m seein stars

[CHORUS]
Oh my, starry eyed surprise
Sun down to sun rise
Dance all night
We gonna dance all night
Dance all night to this DJ
Now sugar, dance all night to this DJ
Oh my, starry eyed surprise
Sun down to sun rise
Dance all night
We gonna dance all night
Dance all night to this DJ
Now sugar, dance all night to this DJ
Dance all night to this DJ
Now lover, dance all night to this DJ
A ha ha

Now the record always spills on the trails we blazed
The walls are closin in, but that’s ok
‘Cause I been waitin all week to feel this way
And it feels so good, so good
I’m on top of the world
The coolest kid in the neighborhood
So let me be a sparkle one night, that’s right
Sweat box, laser beam, flashin lights
You got to
Feel the rush, feel the spice of life
Thug life
Shifty rolls the dice
Snake eyed surprise
Izing, mesmerizin
The mic, the sick ones
‘Cause what we are are victims of fun
C’mon, c’mon, the fun has just begun
C’mon, the fun has just begun
Ha ha

[CHORUS]

Hey DJ!
Tonight..stars
Tonight I’m seein stars
Tonight..stars
Na na, I see stars
I’m seein stars [6x]

[CHORUS (2x)]

Don't ask why. It's a long story.

"Manic Monday" by The Bangles

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down
He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
When you're having fun

This is the ringtone I have for my wife and she called me an hour or so ago so the song has been stuck in my head since.

More SxDx lately:

Crown of Thorns

Pretty much been alone now, for almost five years
I could always find a way, to hide these bitter tears
And still I am waiting, and wishing somehow
I wish I knew then, what I know now

Its no bed of roses, it ain't no crown of thorns
Bitter and lonely, I've been there before

Got a bad reputation, for playing with love
Gonna play again now, and beat the odds above
And still I am waiting, and wishing somehow
I wish I knew then, what I know now

Its no bed of roses, it ain't no crown of thorns
Bitter and lonely, I've been there before

Are you tired of being alone?
Or have you fallen out of love?
Do you care enough about yourself?
I have worn your crown of thorns

Its no bed of roses, it ain't no crown of thorns
Bitter and lonely, I've been there before

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed
sing like a bird
dizzy in my head
Spin like a record
crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
forget how to breathe
Shine like gold
buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

I'm in love with the world through the eyes of a girl
Who's still around the morning after
We broke up a month ago, and I grew up - I didn't know
I'd be around the morning after

It's always been wait and see
A happy day and then you'll pay
And feel like **** the morning after
But now I feel changed around
And instead of falling down
I'm standing up the morning after
Situations get **** up and turned around sooner or later
I could be another fool or an exception to the rule
You tell me the morning after

Crooked spin can't come to rest
I'm damaged bad at best
She'll decide what she wants
I'll probably be the last to know
No one says it 'til it shows
See how it is, they want you or they don't
Say yes

I'm in love with the world through the eyes of a girl
Who's still around the morning after

Quite often! Maybe more often than songs do.

I'm not sure I have an earbug of either version at the moment. Closest thing would probably be this track from Metroid Prime. Been listening to it along with another, similar track or two from FFX for the past 2-3 days now.

Spoiler:

I am out to make a YouTube playlist of nothing but snow level music from video games. I need to have a talk with this Music PhD friend and figure out why snow level music is always crystally chimy. Was it that way 100 years ago? In any case I like it all so I'm happy enough... just curious to get to the bottom of this. :p Aquatic area music may be mixed in if the playlist isn't long enough, as they also tend to be awesome.
