So last week I spent 5 long days at Disney up in L.A. It was fun for the most part. There seems to be this annoying trend now though where teenagers like to jump out of moving rides to get them shut down for 15-30 minutes. It happened to me a total of 3 times, 2 of which I was literally standing at the gate waiting to get on the ride. Escaping the Arizona heat was especially nice. Anyway, I'm posting some pics of the highlights. I spoiler'ed them for size purposes.

We drove from Tucson up to L.A. About 9-10 hours total. This is from the Jack In The Box right before we got onto the freeway to get started. Things didn't start out so good.

But it got better!

Yuma seems to be the 1/2 way point between Tucson and San Diego so we stopped of at yet another Jack In The Box:

As we rolled into San Diego, I realized I forgot to pack my deodorant, so we stopped at a Ralph's to buy some more. We were interested to find out they're the same company as Fry's in Arizona.

So we finally made it to Disney. We got settled in, walked around the park a bit, rode a couple rides. We figured we'd relax a bit and just go watch Iron Man 2. We'd been holding out on seeing it until our vacation. Anyway, this is the theater at downtown Disney.

We ate breakfast at Carl's Jr. the next day.
Spoiler:

We spent some time in Frontier Land. Not much seemed to have changed.

Wednesday was horrible. We went to California Adventure and nothing but bad behaved kids were there that day. This picture didn't really come out I guess.

We ended up leaving early to go do something else.

We drove around a bit and found this really cool little Italian joint called Tutto Fresco (http://www.tuttofresco.biz). I'd really recommend the place. It was off of Katella, about a mile the Ducks arena.

We dropped by my sister in-law's house in Long Beach to visit for a few hours. It was fun hanging out with her. I ended up fixing her toilet while I was there. But we dropped by some Greek restaurant called George's I think. Pretty good food there too.
Spoiler:

This was the Star Tours area. I remember when the line for Star Tours used to be like an hour long. I don't think we ever waited longer than 15 minutes.
Spoiler:

We found a restaurant in downtown Disney called Catal. Way over-priced and our service only okay. We had a nice view from upstairs but the price of the meal didn't justify it.

This is from Space Mountain.

Good times!

That was pretty funny, but the amount of time and forethought necessary to do that convinces me there is something wrong with you.

That is a funny once, and you made good use of it. Do it again and we'll be expecting it.

It really wasn't so hard to do. My phone will let me dictate text to a text file so I could note what picture was what. The hardest part was trying to look casual about walking up to a toilet while looking at my phone.

lol hope you remembered to have sound off. It would be hard to explain to a stranger if he heard the shutter noise of the phone.

I'm convinced there are some phones on which you cannot do this. If there's a way to silence the shutter click on my phone, I've yet to discover it.

They turned it off on the later model Blackberries because of lawsuits (I think). The way to work around it is to make a phone call to anyone (your voicemail?) then turn down the call volume all the way. The volume setting is shared to the camera shutter noise as well. Then take your pictures, and hang up.

...what? Wierd that I know that?

I either did it wrong, or it doesn't work on my phone.
Point of clarification : you take the pictures while the line is open?

edit : NM, just tried it that way and it did in fact work as advertised. Dunno if I want to jump through those hoops every time I want to snap a quiet one, but it's good to know. Thanks :)
