Nah, it's pretty much one party. The sooner you accept that we live in a One Party government, the sooner you can go about deciding how to deal with it.

Oh, if you are using it that way then I agree.

Second, so what if they're getting wealthier? It isn't like there's some magic point where "ZOMG they're getting too wealthy! We need to raise taxes!"

It's not about them getting "too wealthy," it's about the rich-poor gap constantly increasing, and more and more money concentrating at the top. If the tax levels suffered by the rich are truly crippling and unfair, how do they continue to beat out the rest of us who are comparatively getting a free ride?

Who gives a **** about the rich-poor gap increasing? Even if "real wages are declining", it's still not a matter of those rich guys taking too much and thereby causing wage decline.

You seem dead-set on this idiotic idea that we need to tax rich people a certain amount just to make things "fair" to poor people, like being rich deserves a penalty in and of itself.

The same way they got from average to rich in the first place -- they're smart, shrewd, good with money, often thrifty, and productive.

Because many of the poor feel they do not need to work for what others have and try to rely on the government for all their needs. And you know something, if they are not willing to work for themselves, let them and their families be treated as second class citizens, because that is all they are.

Xeq if you have two people who are born with two very different comfort levels (one feels ok with no savings and eating fast food and living in an efficiancy so long as the tv is big, while the other prefers steak and wine and a little violin with his meals) which do you think is going to earn more money?

Which do you think is going to invest and there gain in wealth far faster than the other?

Should the steak lover be punished in order to add few inches to the other's tv?

It has more to do with the freeze in real-wages as pay hasn't been keeping pace with inflation. Labor has been steadily losing real-value over the past 20 years.
