I can't really tell, but I believe that is in Feralas or Hinterlands. As I recall, the Ashenvale and Duskwood portal areas aren't that kind of green. As to the portals themselves, they don't lead anywhere in game, currently. But I'm fairly certain they are supposed to lead to the Emerald Dream.

That's the on in ferelas, hinterlands is green, but doesn't have the green "glow" that ferelas does.

Its in Feralas, the island in the middle of Jademir lake. We were there doing some fishing (nightfin snapper and 425 triv fishing FTW!). We were surrounded by some old-world dragons.

The portal Dream Bough is in fact one of the four entrances to The Emerald Dream.

One of the four Dragons of Nightmare bosses randomly spawns here.

Alright, so now i'm trying to get some macro commands down, but I can't seem to find any really good information on making them anywhere. One of the first one's I would like is a mount macro. Pretty sure I saw something like that on the old glade.

I'm firstly looking for the usual flying toggle, to summon a gound mount when one isn't usable, and a flying mount when it is. On top of that, I would like it to always summon my traveler's tundra if I hold down shift. Is there a way to do both of these together?

I used to use a nice mount macro (spoilered), but have recently switched to using the Mounted! addon, it's much nicer.

Spoiler:
#showtooltip
/use [nomounted,flyable,nomod] Insertflyingmounthere; [nomounted,flyable,mod:shift] Traveler's Tundra Mammoth; insertgroundmounthere

This will summon a flier when you can fly, a ground mount when you can't, and Traveler's Tundra Mammoth when you hold shift.

If you would instead prefer to summon a mount semi-randomly, you can list several mounts each place separated by commas (Snowy White Gryphon, Albino Drake, Bronze Drake) for instance, and change the header from /use to /userandom.

The nice thing about Mounted is you can pick sets of mounts that you really like or really don't like, and instead of random summons have them be weighted. Most of the time it summons one of my drakes, occasionally it summons one or the other of my favorite gryphon's, etc.

::edit:: In case it wasn't clear, mounted works as a random macro generator, that you can then specify modifying keys or specific functionality for- what to do inside, in dungeons, in water, etc. It also lets you use things like druid forms or other spells in particular situations.

Wow, thanks for posting that Nephyr, that could definitely come in handy.

I just downloaded the add-on, and it's not very user friendly.

I'm still level 45'ish, and would just like to get it to switch between my level 40 mount and my Aspect of the Pack. I've got the mount macro working, but can't figure out how to get the 'indoor' stuff set up.

Really? I found mounted to be supremely user friendly. Just drag and drop the macro....

I didn't even need to set up travel forms on my druid, they came pre-made.

Ok, so what you need to do is:

Go to Macro Options, then select "Indoors" from the drop-down menu, and hit Edit.

Under macro commands, where it says "You can't Mount here!", delete that and type /cast Aspect of the Pack.

Then go back to the main options screen, and under indoors macro, select the one named indoors that you just made.

Hope that helps.

Hmm,

I did not have an "Indoor" macro defined. I created one and added the /cast Aspect of the Pack, but when I go indoors, the error message macro comes up (you should really change this macro to something more useful).

I'll keep playing with it. I'm probably missing something obvious (as usual)

Did you set the indoor macro to be what is used on the main options page under the 'indoors' dropdown?

And did you create the macro normally, or through the "New" option in mounted?

I really enjoy the flying mounts. Lets you just drop in and ninja assassinate many quest mobs instead of fighting your way up ramps and such.

Any tips on what to shoot for as the next upgrade to a faster flying mount? Meaning the most easily accessible for a level 67 paladin.

Dash, the flying lessons are of course the big expense, if you can afford them my advice is don't bother with anything besides the Griffin where you are. You'll be going to Northrend soon and you'll be grounded until you hit 77 and can learn cold weather flying (1k gp). You'll want to hit 80 as soon after that as you can and wont be worrying about the fancy flying mounts until then. Once you hit 80 questing for the Burning Crusade fancy flyers becomes a lot easier, you'll have a lot of time to get them then.

more like 10,000,000 cp. And that's just for the cold-weather flying training. ;)

Once you have a level 80 character, you can buy an account bound Cold Weather Flying tome at another 1000 gp each. One per alt once they need it. They don't need to be 77. They may learn it as early as 68, which is the lowest I've heard of so far.

Sold in Dalaran, on the flight deck, might be other places as well, but I don't know that.

Tome of Cold Weather Flight

Minimum level 68, and it's only available in Dalaran.

Yeah, I got that for my most recent alt to hit 70. It's nice to have flight going around all the starting NR zones and not having to pick up random wandering mobs along the way.

Hmm ok. So this is 1000 gold which I do have (barely) and will allow me to fly in Northrend but it says someone has to be level 80 to buy it in the comments? I'm guessing I cant use this judging by these two comments:

Quote:
This tome can only be bought at level 80, and is sold by the flying trainer in Dalaran. It allows any character on your account to learn how to fly in Northrend, so long as they have flying training and are level 68 or higher.

It is one use only.

Quote:
Read the tooltip. The first line under the name "Binds to account." So, no, you can't have someone else buy one for you.

I just hit 68 by the way, I'm going to continue along with my guide rather than jump right over to Northrend. The money is starting to come in nicely now.

You can get about 5k doing all of the Outlands quests, and probably 7-8k doing all of the Northrend quests. Money will not be a problem if you're diligent.

The tome is an alt twinking item. You have to be level 80 to buy the tome. It is Bind to Account. Once your level 80 buys the tome, he can mail it to a level 68+ alt to use.
