I'm going tonight and I am fairly certain I'm going to love this movie. It's really hard to go wrong with a zombie movie. Well, for me, at least. I even enjoyed Return of the Living Dead 4 and 5(Necropolis and Rave to the Grave, respectively). But, I'm just a zombie fanatic, I suppose.

Looks fun (and using a Johnny Cash song in your trailer is never going to lose you point in my book), but I'll wait until video. Phe and I are using our movie monies this weekend to go see the 3D Toy Story/Toy Story 2 double-feature.

I very much would like to see a review from somebody here. I have two friends that are very much zombie-holics but for some reason they're skeptical. I'd like to have something to convince them to go.

I'm no good at reviewing, but I'll gladly let you know how I liked it after I get home. Leaving in less than an hour.

It's only 80 minutes long, according to Fandango.

I'm not paying full theater price for that. Second-run or matinee maybe...

Good choice DFK. It was ok, but as far as zombie flicks go, it was fluff.

Not bad, not a don't bother. But not a rush out and go see right now.

Fun movie. The guest star was hilarious.

I loved this movie. It was one of the funniest movies I've seen in several years and I absolutely loved the guest star. All I hope is that when the Zombie Apocalypse happens, I'm either as bad *** as Tallahassee or I find someone who is just as bad ***.

Loved it, would pay to see it again, even.

EDIT:

I took it from an official wallpaper. Pretty sure it is either the Springdale area or the street near Big Town.

I'm a little sad that Swayzee got sick/died. He was going to be a zombie in that movie doing two spoofs on ghost and dirty dancing. A zombie hand coming and touching a character's hand who is making pottery.... and then lifting that person up in a dance-move before killing them.

Looks like the ending scene to me.

No. 1 at the box office this weekend. $25+ million.

It is a decent comedy. It just isn't a horror flick, which is where I usually put zombie movies.

How could you even think this would be a horror movie after watching the trailers? If you expected a horror movie, you weren't paying attention. Shaun of the Dead wasn't a horror movie, either...and it is one of the best zombie movies of all time.

Saw this a couple days ago and I would agree with Micheal, it was average at best. No need to see it in the theaters imo. Actually, I thought the previews were more interesting...

They showed a clip from the TV series remake of V and the new head female mouse-swallower is played by Morena Baccarin, who was the "whore" Inara from Firefly (I see this was already mentioned in the V thread). There was also a clip from the new and completely unnecessary remake of Nightmare on Elm Street. They showed flashes of the new Freddy pre-burn and I was thinking, he looks familiar...oh I know! That's Jackie Earle Haley, Rorschach from Watchmen.

Oh and the new Scorsese movie Shutter Island and starring Leonardo DiCaprio among many others looks really good...too bad they pretty much revealed the entire damn plot in the previews.

Zombieland was awesome in that Shaun of the Dead way. I would definitely not classify this as a horror movie.

But the only horror movies involving Zombies that have been worth a crap have been George A Romero movies.

You include Resident Evil in the "not worth a crap" category?

I wouldn't call the Resident Evil movies horror movies, either.

resident evil /= horror movie. I would call that a Zombie themed action flick. I would also put the horrible 28 days and 28 weeks later in this category.

And I still stand by my claim that Eric Draven was a Revenant.

Went with some friends last night. We were laughing/giggling pretty much the whole movie. The guest star was awesome.
