Makes me wonder if I'll get another beta invite this year with an account that isn't active. I got one for WotLK when my account wasn't activated. I would laugh if I got it again. But I hear they are handling beta a bit differently this time and instead of sending out keys, they just flag your account. Maybe it will prevent stuff like this from happening again.

That being said, some of those are pretty damn funny(they don't come close to male blood elf /flirts, though). It's a real shame the dances(male worgen and both female and male goblins) are horrible. I haven't seen a female worgen dance yet, though.

Good news for hunters that like to collect pets!

The gear reset is absolutely huge this time around. There's a blue lvl 81 2hander that's better than shadowmourne. Stuff with 500+ sta and 300+ of other stats showing up, and only the first couple instances and zones are open so far. There are some epics from crafting floating around though, they're pretty crazy.

I've let my account lapse and won't be reupping until cata comes out. I just don't see the point really now. At least the last couple expansions your high end raid gear would last you a couple levels.

RealID names being used on Blizzard forums should certainly be interesting.

I was excited for this. Then I heard it. A little disappoiinting.

It would have been far superior if they had imitated the original "Beggin' Strips" commercial. and had the male do it. "IT'S BACOOOOON!!!!"

If either the real names only or the revealing your real name to addons things go through, I'm officially done with WoW. I'd already been thinking about not getting cata, but a couple things that have come out since the nda lifted have perked my interest a little.

Both of these are interest killers, and if they go through with them, I think blizz will see a huge drop in subs pretty quickly.

Well, the RealID thing in game is optional, and so is posting on the forums...

...but yeah it's pretty silly.

I have my money on Blizzard caving, at least on the forum posting thing. No good can come of it. I'm not talking about 1 in a billion oddities, but the up front and direct consequences: A whole lot less posters on the forums for no positive in return.

Blizzard can say "hey! everyone gives out their real name nowadays, just look at Facebook!" or, I suspect, "hey! the social side to our online network is moving into the future! we're not just going to copy Steam!" and yes, it's all true... but, especially with forum posting, though even with RealID Friendlist thing... this is not real life or Facebook.

Maybe they figure it will catch on or something. I guess I wouldn't have been too big on using something like Facebook with online people back in the day. I'm still not, but it doesn't seem weird to me anymore like I believe it did then. But for the brief time I used Facebook, Facebook friends were either real life only or a very select few online. Blizzard seems to think that divide doesn't exist or shouldn't exist or something.

I think the Glade is about the only place online where I blur WoW with RL.

And few people here know my full RL name. There is no positive to the Real Name change. None. It won't make trolls go away at all, heck, we've seen some of those trolls post already saying they aren't leaving, and don't care that we know they're called "John Smith".

I'm still mulling over cancelling my wow accounts.
