I know there was a thread on the previous glade about this game... but not here..

Holy crap, this game is actually putting Fallout 3 on the shelf for me.

This has been the most fun I have had with my pants on in a long time.

It's amazingly short if you don't hunt for all the hidden stuff, but was fun while it lasted.

A short but well-crafted game is not a bad thing. See: Portal.

My only problem with it is still the same problem I had with it before I ever even played it: there is no incentive to ever turn off detective mode (and many more to leave it on, especially Riddler puzzles). Quite a few people have this same issue (including the Zero Punctuation guy). But it's a small gripe for an otherwise outstanding game.

The zero punctuation guy pointed out the downside to playing the whole game in detective mode: The game looks like **** if you do that.

I'm always going to see a short game as a bad thing. I don't care what people say, a game you can beat in 4 hours is not a good thing.

The game was good, and I don't regret playing it, but it's WAY too short.

Well, 99% of all games pre-PS1 were sub 4 hour games heh.

Some of the best games ever made are pretty short and beatable in only a couple hours - they are what you make of them. I certainly spent a hell of a lot more than 4 hours my first run through of Batman though and that's not counting the challenge mode stuff.

I agree with this. Not only that but not everyone is doing speed runs and flashing through content so fast you miss the story and lose the feel of the game.

I tend to move slower through content for the sake of enjoying the atmosphere, etc... rather than just for the sole purpose of being able to say "OMGZORZ, I beat such and such game in 4 hours". Seems a big waste of my entertainment dollars.

Sean nailed it when he said "it is what you make of it".
