I loathe to use the term, but somehow it is so very appropriate

WSJ article about union hiring protesters to walk their picket lines, etc.

To keep his job at CARE, Mr. Borlik says, he must hit a weekly quota of new donors giving a minimum of $20. A CARE spokeswoman says "team members" in the organization's "Face-to-Face" fund-raising program have a goal of two new donors per day.


Two donors per day so $40 per day. $13 per hour for an 8 hour day = $104. I can sit home and copy two names/addresses out of the phone book for $64 per day.

I might actually die of laughter if some group was to start "organizing" these people into a Union using the card check rules, then demanding health benefits from the employer (the other Union) to talk the line, citing the hazardous nature of the job, repetitive stress injuries, etc.
