I'm a special person and I have difficulty being friends with most people. Also I lie to women quite often... telling the truth can give me too much anxiety and I can't deal with it.

Man, I understand that there a lot of asshats out there, but you should still stand your ground. Maybe the reason you have anxiety is because you're afraid you won't be accepted as you are...which creates lies, and which is why other people lie. Break the cycle...or at least try to. That's the only way to overcome your anxiety is to be true to yourself, not medicine. Damn, I sound like a Scientologist. Like, Tom Cruise. You like Tom Cruise, right? The guy in the top 1% of coolness?

There's selfish people regardless of their sex.

Guys don't lie to you because....you're a guy.

You might want to change your mind about that (like right now).

They exist, they lie to guys too, and some of them are very very good at it. You will not know they are lying unless something goes very wrong for them. If you continue to believe that you won't be watching for it when the little things start not adding up and BAM you're betrayed and hurting and probably broke or missing something valuable to you. The difference is they aren't lying to get between your legs.

Yeah you're right. I guess what I meant to say was he doesn't lie to him because he's a friend, just a friend and doesn't want anything from him that he's insecure about losing. Like sex. From a female. That's where i make the distinction.

Speaking of killin me, I'm just joking around about the suicide stuff. Sorry if I scared anyone. Don't freak out, I wouldn't ever consider something like that. I joke around and say whacky things because people don't often pay attention when I'm sincere unless it seems like there's a problem....and I was just ranting...that's what this forum is for, right?? People don't pay attention to what you're saying unless there is emotional content. Then they really listen. I'm not trying to be an attention whore but I just wanted to say what I needed to say, and that's how it came out. A lot of people are a**holes, but I have a positive outlook which is why I can't associate with these immature little girls....but....their titties sparkle. . . . . :o

My life is incredibly stressful as it is. I can't break any cycles at all. Telling people the truth all the time and having them judge you is stressful.

Lex, the truth will set you free, but only if you are actually truthful. Spend as much time trying to be truthful as you do trying to be someone else then tell that tale.

It refers to having shared an igloo at one point or another.

With my ex-wife, I had gotten in the bad habit of ... not lying, but telling only enough of the truth to mislead her into believing something else. When I finally broke free, I recommitted myself to being fully honest. And yes, it's stressful. I call very few people friend and sometimes being honest with a friend can cause major friction. But, if they don't love me for who I am, they aren't really my friend then eh? Everyone else, what do I care what they think. Honestly, not caring takes a lot of stress out of the situation. I know it's easier said then done but give it a shot. :-)

Lying is not?

Hmmm...

I thought the meds were supposed to fix that.

Interestingly enough, meds for psychological disorders is not an exact science. Any psychiatrist will tell you that medicating a mental illness is really all about trial and error. What works for one person won't work for another, different dosages and combinations of medications may have to be tried several different ways on one patient before finding something that works with their unique brain chemistry, and even then medications may need to be adjusted, altered, or changed altogether during the course of treatment.
I'm a big fan of cognitive behavioral therapy in conjunction with medication for the treatment of these sorts of things.
(I really wanted to go into psychology...I should have.)

LK has pegged the treatment and the difficulties with treatment correctly. *bows*
