It'll be nice for those that can use the gear, but two boss five mans are fail. There's three five mans, and seven bosses total through all three. That's pretty bad. So the trash:boss ratio is going to be way off, or they're going to be extremely short.

5 mans have just gotten worse and worse as the game has progressed. And then they do retarded things like random bosses with different loot tables (vh, toc), which imo is absolutely atrocious design. toc has four bosses, but you only fight three of them. Why not all four? vh has seven, but you only fight three of them as well. Seven bosses in that little room would be a little annoying, unless they came every other or every third wave. That would make vh the best heroic to farm by far.

They should have taken the extra bosses in vh and put them in the other three boss heroics, so they all have at least 4. Would love to see an epic level 5 man in cataclysm. Not necessarily BRD level, which was too long, but strat with live and dead lenghtwise would be awesome.

I'm sure the 5 mans will indeed drop Emblems of Triumph. The new weekly raid quests (Anub'rekhan Must Die!) are going to reward 10x Emblems of Frost, so I assume that'll be the new one.

@Jocificus
The three new instances are supposed to be very heavily story-driven. If I read correctly, Sylvanas/Jaina are supposed to escort you through all three of them, until you come to an encounter with Arthas. At this point I assume he'll probably end up beating you up, forcing you to bring a raid force or he'll make an escape of some sort.

Oh gah. That's even more fail. Escort missions suck.

Stupid npcs never move fast enough. They just kinda saunter from place to place. but yeah, 2/3 boss 5 mans suck ***.

I think the WotLK story is great and I'm looking forward to running the new instances. I may not be looking forward to farming them, but I wouldn't do that anyway.

People always complain about long instances like Stratholme, Scholomance and Blackrock Depths, so they started making them shorter, but putting more in a single place. So, where we had only one long instance back in pre-TBC WoW(aside from Scarlet Monastery, which according to Blizzard was everyone's favorite instance back then which I personally hated), they started designing all of them to have more, but shorter instances in a single area. If you added all wings together, they would probably come close to a full old world instance. I personally preferred the old, super long instances(Stratholme being my all time favorite).

Also, if we chase Arthas off, even with the help of Sylvanus or Jaina, I'll be upset. He needs to whoop our asses so bad and then he can leave us to the final boss of the instance to finish up as he goes off to kill Tirion Fordring or something.

It will probably just be a confrontation, without an actual fight. Perhaps we will see Sylvanas / Jaina badly injured.

The story has fallen flat with the Coliseum. Tirion, who had my respect as a leader before these ridiculous games, has lost all of that and earned my loathing.

I hope Arthas utterly destroys him.

But he won't. He'll get whopped down like a puss and go off to sulk somewhere while we kick all of his lieutenants around.

I mean seriously... The Anub fight... He's RIGHT **** THERE! Thrall, Garrosh, Varian, Jaina, Tirion, the PCs and a bunch of others are RIGHT THERE TOO... Jump down and kick his **** ***!

The fact that Garrosh is still there makes the story complete crap.

Which is pure bullshit. Honestly, getting rid of Bolavar as alliance leader (then killing him off) was bad. Getting rid of Caerne is worse. Moving Thrall and Jaina out of their respective factions just makes me wish they were also providing player characters with an option to leave their respective factions. (not change them, that doesn't help. Leave them. Go join the argent crusade or something.) **** the Alliance, and **** the Horde. Both sides will soon be led by utter morons, and the only people with brains have said good riddance to them both.

And yet the "majority of the playerbase" seems thrilled by the changes, thinking that the two factions have been relatively peaceful long enough!

But yeah, I want an option to change my faction to Thrall and Jaina.

Was lucky enough to get my 245 gloves off Koralon yesterday, as well as Felspark Bracers (jaraxxus) and Robe of Something (Anub) from ToC10. I don't know if the Robe will be useful, but the bracers were a decent upgrade.

I've saved up around 60 Triumph badges thus far so I'm going to see how my luck is on our ToC25 tonight, and then decide where to spend em. I'm pretty bitter that the 2t9 bonus for Affliction Warlocks is so shitty though.

2t9 for Hunters is pretty nice, actually.

Elessar: Don't neglect the helm/shoulders/ring you can buy in Dalaran with triumph badges.

lol.

Ya I've already picked up the Ring and Shoulders via badges, so it's either save for the Helm or buy the wand (which I'll likely do if nothing changes tonight)

Score, won a Trophy from my weekly ToC 25 last night. Guess I'll be dumping those 75 Badges on a 245 piece now heh.

Should hit 70 tonight, anything special I can or should do? I have about 1400 gold, and quest armor with a pretty good weapon for my level. I can chew through 2-3 player group quests solo no problem.

Just curious if there is any faction stuff I should be aware of. Or if I can get a faster mount or any particular quest lines that give a cool reward ... I dont know whatever.

Sorry for all the newb questions, but with a game as far along as WoW and with all the changes they make along the way it's hard to find up to date info sometimes.

There are lots of cool factions in the Outlands, but there are lots in Northrend as well.

Shatari Skyguard, the Netherwing Drakes in Shadowmoon Valley, the Kurenai in Nagrand give faction for the Talbuk mounts, which are pretty cool.

If you want to play around with some of them, they're all pretty nice, but as I said, the NR factions have pretty decent rewards too.

Yeah i'm gonna focus on Northrend factions I think. I'll have to look into what I can get from where.

I think Ebon Blade has some decent rewards for Paladins. It's been a long time since I've looked at the Northrend faction rewards though.

Also, make sure you check which faction gets you the head enchant you'll want for your class / spec.

On another note, I picked up the 245 Helm with my Trophy last night, and and also won the 232 legs from Koralon 10 lol. Won't be able to put the legs to use yet though, as I don't want to break my 2t8 bonus until I have 4t9. 20% to Unstable Affliction is just to awesome to give up.

Shat'tari Skyguard and Netherwing faction give good gold and reward you with cool mounts if you do them daily. However, those quests and the Shattered Sun Offensive dailies should be saved for when you're getting ready to logout because Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord quests are better XP and give you better gear in general.

Nexus / Coldarra quests are important to get and do to start the faction grinds, then Dragonblight quests for Wyrmrest Accord, then Zul'Drak for Ebon Blade/Argent Crusade faction, then Scholazar from 76+ (Oracles/Wulvar faction), then Icecrown and Storm Peaks for Ebon Blade/Argent Crusade/Argent Tournament/Sons of Hodir.

Basically, Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord are unimportant in the grand scheme of things. I don't see any faction worth working on there besides Alliance/Horde, there's a lot of annoying quests in those zones, and the lore ("There's some guy named Loken who has special powers!!!") is introduced elsewhere.

Make sure that you start doing the argent tournament dailies as soon as you can (I think it's 77), as you will definitely want the sword you can get from them at 80, the Claymore of the Prophet.

The way the Argent Tournament Dailies go is this:

You start off as an Aspirant, that lasts 3 days- you do the quest daily to defeat Aspirant's jousting.

Then you are a Valiant for ~5 days, assuming you do the quest every day. Then you become a Champion, and can do Champion's Dailies, which award Champion's Seals, that you can use to buy the aforementioned sword.

The dailies (champions and Valiant's both) award great gold as well as faction for the Cities you are working on.

Once you finish championing one faction, go to the next, repeat until you have championed all 5 factions. Then get all your old city factions + argent crusade to exalted to open up more dailies and purchaseables.

You also get new dailies/vendors when you reach exalted with the tournament faction (Sunreavers for Horde and Silver Covenant for Alliance).

Wow that sword is nice thanks. That's exactly what I needed. I wasnt sure I got exactly how it worked or where the seals came into play. So these dailies are soloable right? Other than the one or two group ones for each faction.

I will be joining a guild but I dont want to drag people to do my low level stuff so I'll probably be trying to get myself as geared as possible on my own.
