I don't really see it as "making infidelity ok" because, honestly, when would we ever get a chance to sleep with any of these people? We'd have a better chance of winning the lottery. That's why we pick famous people....it allows for fun banter and teasing within a marriage thats completely safe.
Unless of course your argument is that even such joking is disrespectful to one's marriage vows, in which case, that would be a perfectly respectable opinion.

Good Lord...some folks take things way too seriously.

For the record I have no intentions to ever have sex with someone other than my wife, whether she was all for it or not.

I should have just said she was good looking and left it at that.

Foxy, some people don't understand our games. We can still play them though. We just won't bring them up. ;)

That very well may have started an argument too.

Yes, thank you for letting me know it's ok ;)

As for the "it's not infidelity if we agree it's not":
Sure, if that's your deal, have a ball, my wife and I took vows to remain faithful to each other, whether you took those vows and have subsequently forsaken those vows or didn't take them at all, it's none of my business and I couldn't care less. I was speaking directly about my wife and I, not you and your special friend, wife, sister, brother or uncle. Notice I didn't say "you people", "you" or even "others" I said "we". Shove off.

The point I was trying to make (I won't speak for anyone else) is that 'faithful' does not automatically mean 'monogamous' and vice versa, that's the choice you two made in your vows. There are faithful non-monogamous relationships out there because they are faithful to the promises they made. There are also monogamous relationships in which one partner has been unfaithful.

None of this has anything to do with your situation as you are apparently both faithful AND monogamous... it's just a semantic clarification.

Actually, you said "you folks". And that's all I'm gonna say.

Good call on Felicia Day, Foamy. I'd turn her into a unicorn.

She can be my 5th.

Single, but this seems the appropriate thread to declare that my goal is to have sex with (at least) 26 women, one for each letter of the alphabet.

So far only "T" and "L" but it's a work in progress.

Yea, I said "I'm not saying you folks shouldn't". If someone saying that what they believe shouldn't be taken as what others should believe calls for you defending your position, I guess that's your own issue to deal with.

Just curious..why is this interesting after the rant fest?

Not being sarcastic, truely don't see a connection between the issues discussed there and this topic.

My eyecandy list!

1. Chris Evans
2. Jered Leto
3. Jake Gyllenhaal

I don't keep up with the actual locations of threads, so I was in error. I was actually thinking of the "geek hawtness" thread. I just assumed was in Rants given how the discussion devolved and since being locked, it had fallen off the first page of General.

To me it was interesting reading the discussion there about what people consider hot, in particular the debate about superficial beauty, and who posters put on their "list". But, I also understand the considerations for the "lists" are pure eye candy.

I would be more interested to know who you would want to go out on a date with, and how would that differ from these lists. Of course, more couples might have issues with that kind of list, given the different kind of intimacy than just sex.

Oh ok :)

so eye candy vs who I would date?

Well I would like to date eye candy.. Just for a bit anyways lol..but since that is not gonna happen.

I would to go on a date with:

1. Jared Leto (he could sing to me the entire date ;). )
2. Prince William (I think it would be interesting to talk about his life and all that has happened in it)
3. Adam Savage ( he seems like alot of fun, maybe we could blow something up on our first date lol )

umm still thinking..
