OK ladies, I've got the league up. I'm going with ESPN this year. I think the league manager option they have adds a lot that would benefit us along with a lot of other options that we can customize.

So, seeing as it's invite only, either post an email for me here in this thread or shoot it to me via PM. I've got it set at 10 managers but we can go more. I don't care how many we have as long as everyone is an active participant. Dead teams suck. I'll set the draft date when the league fills up.

Yeah, I assume everyone has one of those.

I've done the fantasy hockey in the past....how similar/hard is it compared to that? I'm a huge football fan so i'd love to try one of these.

Pretty much the same but just with football positions to make up your team. Scoring will be different of course but the same concept applies. Lot's of yards, TD's, sacks, ints = good. Fumbles, throwing ints, measly yardage = bad. Head to head match ups.

Need some feedback from those that are playing.

We can make this a keeper league. Anyone interested in going that route? I've never done it so wouldn't mind trying it.

Quote:
KEEPER RULES (LM Leagues Only)
Each owner in a keeper league is allowed to retain a small number of players they owned during the previous season, eliminating these players from the draft. All leagues are retained from year-to-year, regardless of Keeper setting. However, you are given the option to set Keeper rules for the upcoming season and the following year. If you decide you want to use Keepers this season, you can do so by opening the LM Tools page and then selecting "Yes" from the dropdown menu. You will be given options for how many Keeper slots to make available and when the keeper list locks. The same applies for the next season.

NOTE: If you are continuing a league from a different provider, you will need to select Keepers for use this season. You will then need to go into the Edit Team Rosters link and manually assign the Keepers to their appropriate teams BEFORE the draft. Also, if the League Manager allows draft pick trading, team owners cannot trade picks after keepers have been locked. So if you wish to trade draft picks, make sure you do so prior to the keeper selection deadline.

I'd like to give that a shot :)

I don't think I want to keep anyone from last year though. We should start fresh. ;)

Well yeah, seeing as we are going with ESPN this year we should go with a clean slate.

So 2-0 for keeper league so far.

I used to be in a side league for 3 years that kept carrying over.

One of the biggest downsides I remember is that it made it frustrating/difficult for fresh blood to get into the league if all the best talent was being carried over from year to year.

Seeing as how we typically have a couple new faces each season, this might be something to consider.

True, but the majority of our league has been there for at least 3 years or more. We don't have much turnover. And just to add, it would be an incentive for folks to keep coming back.

I'm actually going pass this year. I'm in another league (with money on the line) so I'm going to focus my attention there. Good luck to you all! It's a fun league and people are pretty good about playing through the season.

Drex and Moose, waiting on your guys to sign up. Let me know if I need to send the invite again.

We need at least two more managers to fill out the league. If you've played with us before, get in again. If you never have, sign up.

I'm disappointed. I don't have the opportunity to get a back-2-back gold trophy on Yahoo. :D

Anyway, I'm really excited for Fantasy Football to start. I can't wait. The best time of the year is around the corner.

With the apparently high turnover rate from managers, I have to ask what happens to the players in a keeper league if people drop out next year?

They go back into the regular draft pool I believe.

Interesting, since I've never done a keeper league.
