DLP sets are the only ones with a signal plight at the moment.

Yeah. I'm sure they'll eventually patch it...after everyone goes out and buys an LCD.

I used to think DLP was great, kinda how I used to prefer CRT. But the same is true...it's big and bulky, just to a lesser extent...and with DLP, you definitely pay the price with having to replace the light bulb every so often. It's kind of a hassle!

That's why I'm going LCD

My friend just picked up a 42" Samsung LCD (actually, it might've been Plasma) and the picture is beautiful.

DLP is awesome -- if you get it as a projector. I've never been all that enamored with rear screen projection. Why should I constrain myself to a given size when the guts of the thing I'm paying for are size agnostic (within brightness limitations, of course)?

It's also downright badass technology.

Yeah, if I had the money for a projector and had a giant wall to put a screen on in a room that would be dark all of the time, I'd consider it.
