It's not undeniable! John Stossel says so! Also, I deny it! See! It's deniable! Let's not mention the ten indicators that (continue to) prove what scientists have known for some time now.

When are conservatives going to bite the bullet, accept reality, and try to find workable solutions to the issue? Will we continue to be bogged down in the stupid arguments over misrepresented stolen emails, or are we *actually* going to get something done? The globe is warming at an alarming pace. Our use of fossil fuels is primarily responsible. Only people with a vested interest (ideologically or monetarily) are not on board with these facts. Anyone who continues to hold the idea that this is all some great conspiracy, a hoax perpetuated by a cabal of eeeevil communist scientists, needs to take a breath and remove their tin foil hats.

Seems it would be obvious that it's become a political issue because it's not a scientific issue anymore. Unless, of course, you think politicians argue about stuff that actually matters...

Real problems get real analysis. Take the ozone hole, for instance. Global warming... not so much. Liberals being liberals (oh noes! it's terrible! take from the rich and give to the poor, that'll fix anything!), conservatives being conservatives (what, me worry? this isn't my problem...), same ol' same ol'.

Your first article has two parts, the first being the only one of any relevance directly to the point of your post, being the decline of phytoplankton in specific areas of the ocean, with increases in others.

I'd be curious though how he correlated data from 1899 regarding plankton distributions on a global scale, and how this resolves with his real research, which according to his PhD profile, is "meta-analytic approach to model prey composition and feeding rates of large pelagic predators" and the impact of reduced predator concentrations on the pelagic ocean systems.

I also think there is an interesting correlation between the oceanic currents and the locations of growth looking at his map (yellow towards red is growth). It appears that most of the growth regions correspond to more shallow, coastal (and therefore warmer) regions.

The second part of the first article is more a condemnation of the real problems... unsustainable human population.
