I think it's much deeper than that Rynar. I certainly think that's part of it. Socialism and communism are fundamentally based on group-think. People are composed of groups instead of people being composed of their own philosophy. This is why liberals have such a hard time not seeing people in terms of race, because they would be defined as individuals then. If the race factor were to be eliminated, they would create a new category or lump into an existing category, such as socioeconomic classes. I bet if I found two libertarians, I would find disagreements in their philosophy, because we aren't homogenous. We're individuals that share some common goals, but differ on others. In fact, I'd argue that it is likely no two people are 100% in agreement on everything.

You are completely wrong. One of the biggest issues the various liberal organizations have is in trying to present a unified message because everyone has their own ideas and doesn't easily meld into the group think mentality that the conservative parties are usually able to benefit from.

This is so patently ridiculous and you missed my point. Every side believes there's disorganization and a lack of a unified message if they don't agree with the message. But it doesn't have to be one united group either. It can be many groups, as long as people are lumped together somehow. Libertarians and conservatives see people in terms of their individuality. In other words, a bottom-up philosophy. Liberals and socialists tend to see people according to common characteristics, thereby placing them in groups. So, a top-down philosophy.

Tend is the key word. It doesn't mean they do it consistently. I'm also greatly simplifying it. Since I'd argue there are thousands, if not millions of different philosophies. Furthermore, people do fall into groups at some level. It's just if you see them as individuals part of a greater society or a greater society with a bunch of individuals in it. Again, bottom-up or top-down.

Obama and his "My personal salvation depends on the collective salvation" fits perfectly into the outline you've presented Ienan.

Obama has repeated that line in speeches both pre and post-election. It is so reminiscent of Moony-ism, that it stuck in my head.

This is the first video I found in a quick look, it's filled with other crap, but here it is:

Heheh, I was pretty surprised that so many Beck bits popped up when I looked for an example for Screeling. It looks like he did a whole show on it. Did Beck mention Sun Myung Moon?

I don't know about Sun Myung Moon. I just know for like 2 weeks on Sirius he won't **** shut up about "collective salvation." I turn Boortz on FM instead, and when he's boring I just run the MP3 player.

No, you're completely wrong. Conservatives don't have a group think mentality because they are not trying to make everyone thinkt he same thing. Rather, they try to reach consensus among different types of conservatives on issues that they all can agree on and share an interest in.

Liberals, on the other hand, don't do that. They try to make groups with conflicting interest all the same by focusing them on opposition to the Big Bad Evil White Male and pretending all those groups agree with each other about everything and disagree with Big Bad on everything. That's whythey try so hard to avoid mentioning things like enormous Hispanic and Black support for gay marriage bans, and why the L.A. President of N.O.W. was told not to speak out about domestic violence during the first O.J. case because they "needed" blacks, who wanted to see the case in racial terms.

I guess if shallow stereotypes are "spot on and absolutely hilarious", this should be right up your alley:

I feel your hatred growing, Vindi. I'll be responding to other threads soon.

I seem to recall a thread just before I got suspended that involved a large number of shallow stereotypes about liberals...

You're hilarious. The cartoon about libertarians is spot-on, but Vindi's is about hatred?

You really ought to just change your custome title to "hypocrite". The fact that you think a cartoon could ever be "spot-on" indicates just how arrogant you are, simply rejecting out of hand any idea you dislike, but this just takes the cake.

That's neat, is your feeling of hatred the new racism, I ask because I want to be in on the ground floor of the new accusation. Much like you have for Arafys, I'm sure you have a classification for me. Please let me know which box I fit in, so you can follow the Alinsky protocol. I'm looking forward to what all reasoning beings think will be, as it has always been in the past, your highly anticipated, eloquent rebuttal.
