Yeah, the jousting dailies are easy.

I'm still trying to get the max number of "Defeated" buffs, since they only last 5 minutes now.

Best I can get is 5 champs in 5 minutes, with no heals in between fights.

For Citadel and Threat, while they are pretty easy to solo, groups are so common and so much faster that I usually go that route.

Battle before the citadel is easy to solo. Threat from above is simple as a protadin ;)

Any healing class can solo it, and pretty much everyone else can as well depending on how well geared they are.

Cit is easily soloable as well, just a little time consuming. If you know how to joust properly, they shouldn't take off that much of your health. You can do the two jousting dailies back to back without having to heal yourself once if you're good enough. Generally those guys only take off 5-7k health on my mount before they die.

The one with the "Kill 3 commanders" goal?

I can solo the one with the lieutenants, but the commanders own my face off.

Commanders aren't that bad to solo if you get them alone.

For Battle before the Citadel, there are 2-3 commanders and groups of 4 footmen that wander around at the top of the HUUUUGE set of stairs, and no scouts or other clumps. Very much easy to solo it up there

I started playing my prot war again, pretty fun now that he can actually grind decently w/ the WotLK stuff.

And the 4p DPS warrior bonus is insane.

Ding 72. So how long does a typical daily quest take? I'm wondering how many I would be able to accomplish solo in a 2 hour window since that's my typical play time.

Do they vary widely?

P.S. the newest expansion is the best so far in my view. I like the questing in Northrend so far, it keeps things interesting. The itemization is good, not great but good. At least the equipment looks much better in WotLK than the bright pink and multicolored gear I got in Outlands. I'm not overly worried about gear stats yet, still just picking whichever item feels good as I get them. I understand maxing my Hit stat is one of if not the most important DPS stat, followed by Strength so I'm working off that.

If done right, at 80 you could complete all 25 dailies well within the 2 hour window for maximum cash.

One tip, is to start doing the Argent Tourney dailies as soon as you can, I think it's 77, if not then 78. They give nice exp, and can get you close to a nice weapon by the time you ding 80.

Quickest dailies until 76 are either Ogri'la, Netherwing, or SSO.

Of course, Ogri'la and Netherwing require group quests to qualify you for doing them.

I'd definitely suggest hitting SSO for the gold.

Once you get rolling in the Argent Tourney, gone through the Aspirant/Valiant lines and are comfortably familiar with all the quests and such, you can do all of them in about 30 minutes solo. That's 160 gold or so if you take the purse rewards instead of the rep ones. I think it's 10 quests total. Now that I think of it, this is at Champion though, once you complete the Valiant quests for all 5 cities. While you're working on all 5 cities, I think you get 1 additional quest total. Whatever the details are, in the end you get a lot of quests done in a short period of time. :p Note that pre-80 the income will be a lot lower, but if memory serves you get a decent amount of exp.

But that only starts at 77. While leveling up before then, there are a couple dailies you can do to work up your reps in Northrend. They generally all are opened up as a result of questing in an area, so you can't just go to a new place and get them. I made a partial list for guildies not long after Wrath opened, so it shall come in handy here. :p

The Kalu'ak have 1 daily in all 3 zones they have towns in: Howling Fjord, Dragonblight, and Borean Tundra. Useful for getting a pretty great fishing pole and an awesome penguin buddy.

Frenzyheart or its opposing rep the Oracles have a set of dailies you eventually unlock in Sholazar. Level 76 req if memory serves. Mostly a just for fun rep, very easy to grind even by WoW standards, but they have some decent blues for some classes/specs if you get to them early enough.

Horde Expedition (or its alliance equivalent) have dailies in Grizzly Hills, most at the logging camp place in the north. Most are PVP oriented, though only in the sense that they force you to be flagged. Likewise the people of your opposing faction doing the same dailies are also forced to be flagged. :p This rep isn't terribly useful though... a buyable PVP head enchant at Revered and, if you're an engineer, the pattern for the Mechanohog or Chopper at exalted.

Wyrmrest Accord has 1 daily outside the Nexus and 1 at Wyrmrest Temple. They get another at level 80, this one above the Nexus.

Sons of Hodir can be opened up at level 77 I believe, starting a very long quest line at K3, the first town in Storm Peaks. If you're not an inscriptionist this is more or less required. There's also a kinda neat daily nearby that has a 1% chance to give you an armored polar bear mount. :p

The Argent Crusade has a set of dailies in Zul'Drak at the main town. If you get good at these it's a pretty good set of dailies to do. Over 1k rep and very fast. One of these dailies is a royal pain without either a) a lot of practice or b) an addon made just for the daily. :p

The Argent Crusade also has... one? daily in Icecrown. Note that as a non-DK, you will amass a ton of Argent Crusade rep while doing Tourney dailies, so it's not as important to worry about these dailies if you need the rep. Unless you want to do them for fun, anyway. I kinda like the Zul'Drak ones!

The Knights of the Ebon Blade have 892734234234 dailies in Icecrown, after some lengthy questing. As a dps you want to get this to revered.

--

You can find out more about what these various reps offer by searching for their name in wowhead. the result under "Faction" is the one you're looking for.

This is actually the warsong offensive rep, or the equivalent for alliance. It rolls over into horde expedition a bit though. That's the rep you need to make the motorcycles if you're an engineer. The only one that I know of that gives just horde expedition rep is the one right outside the walled town.

The hodir dailies are awesome for grinding cash if you need some. By the time you hit revered there's five (six maybe?) of them, and it takes like 10 minutes, tops. I've done the polar bear daily almost every day since the expansion came out and still haven't gotten mine. Guess it's payback because I got the green proto-drake from my second egg.

It's 800 rep for this quest series, and that's only if you finish them within the twenty minute time limit, which is pretty easy to do. Generally takes 8 minutes or so to do the whole thing. This is a bad use of time if you're looking at doing dailies for cash though.

If you're a dk you don't get the argent quests at the tourney, you get quests from some ebon blade reps. This makes it a lot tougher for dk's to get argent crusade rep, but much easier for them to get ebon blade rep.

If you're just looking at doing dailies for cash/xp, icecrown is the place to go. I wouldn't be surprised if there are at least 25 in the zone that you can do, and most of them reward the 13g+ normal amount. There's a couple of group dailies that give a significant amount more if you can find groups for them as well.

Personally, I'd do the sons of hodir dailies and then hit up icecrown. Probably the tourney and the six ebon blade reps. That would put you at over 20 dailies done. Save one for the daily heroic if you're 80, and you're good to go.

Also, at 78 add in the Daily Normal from Archmage Timear in Dalaran- iirc, it's 20g at 80, or a nice chunk of exp and 14 gold at 78. Not to mention, it helps build badges early, and gives rep to a faction of your choosing (I'm doing Hodir, now that it's an option).

44 gold in ~10 minutes for those dailies at the Argent Stand at 80. Hardly bad from a time efficiency point of view.

They are a bad idea if you intend to do your full 25 a day though, since it takes up 6 dailies to get that 44 gold... If time isn't a concern, and rather gold per daily quest (i.e. max gold I can get for 25 dailies in one day) then yeah this is terrible. :p

My trick for lvling alts is to go to wowhead and do a filter on blue armor/weapons that are rewards from quest lines. Then I go and do those quest lines. The result is that you get to lvl 80 pretty much as fast as any other method, and have pretty decent gear, so you can immediately start doing heroics without being completely dead weight. My DK tank had 540 def that way by lvl 79.

Blizz is merging everything to bnet. So when SC2 & D3 come out, they'll all share an account with WoW. Which means you'll be able to msg friends through their bnet account, regardless of which game they are currently playing.

Same.

Also, we got iron council down in hard mode last night, and I won the quest item to eventually summon Algalon the Observer! So far, the only watcher we've downed in hard mode is Hodir, we'll be working on Freya next. I hear that Mimron is HORRIBLE.

P.S. I've been a fire mage for life, but with the latest Arcane changes I finally made the switch. Holy crap, I'm back on top of the DPS meters again! I pulled 9k last night during the General, and was the top DPS for the whole night, beating out a DK and a Rogue who have consistently been on top.

Yeah, mages are in a pretty good spot right now. Ours regularly break 10k on the Twin Valkyr fight, and we have one that always tops the Jaraxxus fight because he doesn't kill adds /grumble

Really? Fury spec Warrior is that high on the DPS chart? Interesting.

For my own reference my to do list at 77:

Cold Weather Flying 1k gold
Artisan Flying 5k gold
280% speed flying mount 200 gold?

Argent Tournament Faction to exalted for Claymore of the Prophet etc

Secondary factions:
Knights of Ebon Blade
Sons of Hodir
Argent Crusade
Kirin Tor

I have about 2800 gold right now at 73.5, so we'll see how much I have when I get to 77. Just the cold weather flying will be enough for me to get by though.
