Ok I had a job contract pending in San Antonio, Well that company is held by a parent company that is Lactated in California. They wanted to modify the contract, because of 1070.

Their terms Reduce hourly rate by 30% (money loser)
Self pay own travel.
Lodging costs limited to $50/day(wtf Motel 6 go smoke FU).
20% reduction on materials needed (I bill materials at cost).
A confidentiality agreement that forbids me from advertising or claiming them as a client.

Needless to say I sent their proposal back with lots of red Xs in it.
Then I resent updated contract to them Increase of labor 15%.
Travel time billed at quoted hourly rate for first class travel.
Lodging paid by client nothing lower than 4star accommodations, with room service and expense allowances,
and due to being past signing deadline and the time frame for getting preferred rate for materials has passed materials will be billed at an additional 10% above cost.
Also included a clause to allow me to publish a case study on their systems and preformed changes

I have enough work to keep my Staff and I busy, with out your contract thank you very much.

**** you very much

Ah, right. Didn't recognize the bill number, but I assumed that was what it was on first read. Just wanted to be sure.

Yeah, we've had a lot of boycott Arizona idiots here in Sacramento as well. None of them seem to be able to answer one simple question - What effect will this have on the Arizona legislature?

Well, they won't really know if it will have much of an effect until the economic impact is felt. My guess is that as the Latino population clears out of the police state of Arizona, they will begin to feel the pain, and there will likely be some political change.

Sorry no fencing lessons, Leshani. :(

The good people of Arizona have no idea how much they have come to rely on undocumented workers.

It will be interesting to see if they can put their young unemployed adult citizens to work doing all those jobs.

I still don't see much of an exodus from there as of yet. Could be the undocumented folks don't really believe anything is going to happen except a few of their stupider or more careless people get caught and deported.

They've been dealing with deportation for a long time. Go home, say hi to everyone and come on back. Only now the cartels use you a lot harder to get to the USA.

I think what they realized is how much undocumented workers are costing them.

Monte,
overall this might effect my year end by 1k
not enough to worry about. They contacted me to initiate the quote and contract process. We did the site review, and evaluation. After which we bid the infrastructure upgrade that they wanted. I've been paid for all work to date as it was done without contract.
The over all impact is chump change, I can fill the work schedule.
I've given them 10 days to sign the revised contract, if they don't then they get time available for their project. which at this point would put them May or June of next year.
I will not be held hostage.
All this did was shift my priorities a little.

If my personal schedule allows I might still make a trip if for nothing else I want to fish Choke canyon, So fencing & fishing could still happen.
Whole lot different from the cast, and blast I normally do.

Actually their not that reliable in overall performance of jobs.

It would do this country good if todays youth could learn work ethic and self reliance.

Actually in regards to what you might be seeing in the MSM there has been a a noticeable exodus.

That much is true that's why we need border security. The violence and drugs are escalating in the border regions. What is wrong with enforcement of exsisting laws?

Leshani,

Point one, you would know a lot more about that than I do, but they are better than nothing

Total agreement on point two. Getting the slackers to work is going to be harder, you can't call INS on them.

Point three, yeah, it isn't getting much press here, again, you're much closed to it and would know more.

Point four, no argument. The undocumented workers are a minor problem compared to the gang violence and drug running, and sieve like borders.

According to the numbers we have three times as many people on unemployment than we have individuals unlawfully present in the united states. I'm sure we will do fine.

No, people from Arizona are white, and therefore can't be discriminated against.

Interesting that 3 states don't require proof of residency to obtain a driver's license, and in the last 6 months, have nearly doubled the number of applications for a license compare to all of last year.

As history has proven time and time again, discrimination is the best method by which teach those that discriminate, and future generations of potential discriminators, that discrimination is bad.

Indeed. Remember, EVERY resident of Arizona other than Illegals is white.. or at least all the ones in favor of 1070 are. They must be!

I'll tell Rinaldo that Monday morning, when he comes in for his assignments. just maybe I need to record one of his diatribes on Illegals, it's no holds barred with him. You think the people on this board are vocal. He's from Mexico, Became a naturalized citizen 6 years ago. If I ever thought someone would be in favor of summary executions for Illegals it would have to be him.
When he filled out his I-9 he didn't select a race he wrote in American.
