Well, the only reason I could think of while on the toilet was "They changed 'on kill' mechanics to not require a killing blow, just credit for the kill", but even then, most fights don't have sufficient adds for it to be worth it. >_> Which is why I asked.

Yeh. If it requires a killing blow... that's an awful talent.

I honestly just forgot about Imp. Evis. being a combat thing.

I'd keep in mind at least one of the design goals is that all your talent points cannot/should not be able to go toward directly improving your DPS.

Yes, you taking Improved Sprint and Improved Recuperate is considered good, under that design paradigm.

Yeah, I understand that. And I'm fine with that design paradigm.

But make the choices mean something. Make me choose between two or three exciting talents instead of talents that are just suck.

I know many just ***** about the inclusion of PVP design changes, but part of the stated intention of this overhaul was also to make the differences between specs between PvE and PvP for a given tree less polarized. Hence the inclusion of defensive type passive effects in offensive trees and other control type utility abilities remaining or being added (movement affecting abilities, stun/charm/fear resistance or immunity etc.)

Not that I agree this will accomplish such a thing, that is just the intention. Perhaps it will in concert with the itemization overhaul.

I think the mastery stat idea is lazy and cheap.

I'm not feelin' this expansion. They took the lazy way out and added Runic Power...erm...I mean "Holy Power" to Paladins. We didn't need a new resource to manage, and we didn't need to be Death Knights of the Light.

Someone needs roundhouse kick.

Why is there no roundhouse kick talent for any class?

And an achievement for "That is a fist behind that beard"

Kick animation for blood elf rogue is roundhouse.

Holy Power is reminiscent of Combo Points, to me, and I think I'd like to have a little bit more to manage than just "hit everything when it comes off CD" when I play Ret, at the very least.

Kick animation for Trolls is a roundhouse kick as well.

It's a capoeira style spinning kick I believe.

Hmm, deadly momentum seems cool. I'll drop 2 points in that. Since I don't use eviscerate cause I'm not bad, I'll drop the other 3 in Lethality, even though its kinda dull.
(2 pts DM, 3 pts Lethality)

Imp. Eviscerate is now called Coup De Grace and affects Evis. and Envenom.....

:D

So now I just don't take deadly momentum...

Yeah. But "Vile Poisons no longer affects Envenom."

Still not sure how I feel about it. I like my mutilate spec, because I really enjoy using daggers as a rogue. And I've been playing mutilate since BC because I enjoyed that it wasn't as boring as combat. Changes in LK made mut a little more boring, but still interesting enough to keep it fun. I just hope my spec of choice isn't gimped to hell in Cataclysm.

Yeh, its pretty much a wash at this point though.

Meh. I'm not real happy with the talent changes, but eh, I'll have to live with em. I'm *hoping* that sub will get some <3 and become raiding viable. I'm tired of mut, envenom, mut, envenom, /sigh

It's still more fun than an arcane mage. I can promise you that. I *had* to go Fire/arcane just to get out of that hellish monotony.

If you really want to have crazy whack-a-mole raiding fun, go enhancement shaman. I hadn't played him in a year and tried him again not too long ago. Wow. I had forgotten how very active you gotta be with them. But, it's also very fun.

I may get to. I just moved my shaman across servers, and our guild is hurting for an Enh shammy. I'm currently ele/resto, but I'll go enh if they want to gear me out.

And I exaggerate with mut/env, mut, env, etc. There's always plenty for me to do, and its fairly rare on some fights that I can 'settle' into a rotation. I totally feel it when I do though. After getting set up to roll, SnD, HfB, making sure my poisons are up, and all that jazz, Its like being in the eye of the storm before I have to run around, chasing a boss, or a spore, or a slime or whatever.

I like that feeling. Me and the boss, and me trying to -murder- it. The calm certainty that the others are doing their stuff and I just need to kill. that. boss.
