Not much, really. I never implemented it. The idea is that if you're a member of multiple groups, then you can set one as your primary or default group, and certain settings will become dominant. That's why Dash's name is red and nobody else's is. I'm also a member of the Admin group so I'm eligible for a red name, but since I set my default group to "registered members" it's black.

I have not done the PbP, but often read them. Would that still be ok?

I would be interested in being considered for a PbP group if an opening came up.

Also, what is the purple posse?

The idea behind the group isn't to keep people out, it's to let people choose if they want to see the forums or not. Mostly just to clean up some clutter. There's no reason to restrict the group at all.

Purple Posse:
Internal explanation - That's a usergroup I created as a test to check some functionality.
External explanation - The Purple Posse is a nickname given to 3 purple haired girls in Clannad who end up hanging out together (because they all lost at winning the protagonist's heart).

Not that the default usergroup seems to matter much, but is there a way to change that setting and move the default group back to normal registered members?

Short of booting someone from the group and reinviting them, which I have already confirmed to work but do not think is optimal.

An administrator (or possibly a moderator) would have to do it.

Rori appears to now be the mod for all of the subforums.

Alright, I've applied the permissions to the various gaming forums so that only the members of the PbP Gamers group can see them. I also configured the usergroup to be open membership, so anyone can join from their user control panel. There's a sticky saying as much.

Was the intent of hiding the subforums from non-members to put them back out on the main page? If they're still buried underneath the pbp header, I am not sure I see the point of having set up a group for them.

I just added all of the players in the two active games.

What does the "default group" setting do? I had considered checking that for the three or four accounts that I knew to be duplicate accounts created for specific characters.

Primarily, it dictates your name's color. Name color is one potential attribute of groups.

Err...so, what? We have decided that the PbP forums do not require a special group and reverted to previous configuration? I actually appreciated being able to perform maintenance actions in my own subforum.

Someone pointed out an issue with moderators and ignore. Sorry.

What actions do you want to do on your forum? I'll see if I can cobble something together with the advanced permissions.

Mostly sticky/unsticky and lock/unlock.

Hmm, you should have sticky/unsticky ability already. I'll check when I have a free moment (busy at work atm)

There should be a way to assign such powers to group leaders within the subforums that fall under their purview. I was able to sticky and unsticky without being a mod earlier this week.

Creating stickies isn't a moderation power, it's a posting power. Locking posts is a moderation power and so it's in a different part of the configuration.

All forum leaders should have sticky privileges again. I tried to give just lock ability but that flags you as a moderator and that causes the problem. You should be back at the privilege level you were at before I started mucking around with things.
