If you were one of the trapped Chilean Miners...how would you keep from going crazy trapped for 4 months with 33 people you work with in a 500 square foot room?

This would help a bit, but all the 'output' from 33 people gets really rank, so I'm not sure how much it would help.

Hopefully they are getting paid for all the time they are dowm there.

Arathain, I'm glad you asked for the toilet first...

But yea, I think I'd be worried about sanitation in the confined space, so I'd be asking to implement some way to dispose of waste.

A decent light source, with a natural spectrum of light (i.e. feels/looks like sunshine).

Some way to stay in touch with the outside world... perhaps pipe local radio in, and a way to communicate with friends family.

Other than decent food and clean water, and other 'basics', I think that covers the necessities.

Extras... yea some way to pass the time...

The game "Axis and Allies". One game will blow 4 months easy.

"Drang Nach Osten," too. They might even have room for the map down there.

I have to admit, I had the "lotion" thought, too. And I heard that there will be some sort of wire set up so that they can gave contact with their families, etc.

Oh, I know, maybe a white noise machine. Otherwise, all you're going to hear are your co-workers for 4 months. Gonna need something to drown that out, and even to give you a little something other than deafening silence when everyone is asleep.

In a month or so, they will need swords to battle the giant cave spiders.

Maybe, if they occupy their minds with more duties, they can control their lack-of-space madness.
