Lots of votes for the inclusive field of soft drinks. Please indicate the types you like here, you can choose up to three. Generic terms only, though please feel free to name brands and products in your posts.

I like soda(regular, not diet), fruit juice(apple, orange, fruit punch are my favorites) and Koolaid. Because the Koolaid guy is awesome.

I wouldn't mind diet soda at all, but most everyplace only has diet cola, and I don't like cola. I'd probably lose 20lbs if places started offering diet Sprite/Slice/Siera Mist.

This poll has thrown me for a loop. I've always considered "soft drinks" to be carbonated beverages, be it colas, root beers, orange, grape, ginger ale etc. I don't think I've ever heard of coffee, tea, milk or juice referred to as "soft drinks". Is this common regionally?

That aside, of the choices offered I've mostly quaffed diet soda; Diet Coke to be exact.

You are correct, sir. I was about to say the same thing. The following is not much of a source, but it mirrors what I thought before I voted:

Wikipedia wrote:
A soft drink is a drink that does not contain alcohol . Soft drinks are often carbonated and commonly consumed while cold. The most common soft drinks are colas, flavored water, sparkling water, iced tea, sweet tea, lemonade, squash and fruit punch.

The term "soft" is employed in opposition to "hard", i.e. alcoholic drinks. Generally it is also implied that the drink does not contain milk or other dairy products. Hot chocolate, hot tea, coffee, tap water, juice and milkshakes also do not fall into this classification.

Likewise on the confusion. Given the choices, I chose fruit juice. I frequently make fruit smoothies with bananas, frozen berries, yogurt and OJ. So I guess thats the closest option.

I like Cherry Dr. Pepper, and right now I'm kinda on a Vault kick...

Speed Stack is a GREAT energy drink. The normal energy drinks (i.e. caffeine) don't do anything for me.

Diet cola's with meals usually. Ice Tea when I'm at a real restuarant, or sometimes at home.

I occasionally drink low calorie versions of sports drinks or vitamin water, but not every day.

I also occasionaly partake of the 4hr energy drinks if I'm feeling sluggish after lunch.

I drink a lot of plain water too, when I'm sitting at my desk at work or home (why wasn't water included?)

Midgen, because I'm already skating on thin ice with milk, tea and fruit juice. Water had its own category on the last poll.

I protest the misrepresentation of HFCS as "sugar". I can taste the difference between, for example, Coca Cola and Boylan Cane Cola; and I have a preference :P

Coffee and low sodium V8 for me every day!! Iced tea when I decide to make it(I love iced tea, just get lazy sometimes! :P )! Mostly I drink water during the day, until cocktail hour rolls around! Then its margaritas or red wine.

I usually drink diet iced tea and I'm particularly fond of the Turkey Hill iced teas at the moment. Other than that, I drink water, milk (usually with cereal and sometimes coffee), and diet soda occasionally.

Sorry if my questioning sounded like berating. That was not my intent. I was merely curious.

I got a 12 of this at the store last time, and I'm truly amazed how much I like it. Good stuff.

Also, love the new avatar. :)

I go through about 1 gallon of milk every 2 (rarely 3) days. With only me drinking it.

So, assume that the "sugar" option actually means sugar, because there are plenty of sodas that don't use HFCS. Most major brands have different versions available now, as well.

Probably why he asked for specificity in people's posts, because you can only have so many poll options.

Off the top of my head, the only ones I can think of are Jones and Hansen's. There are a bunch of small companies whose products you can typically only find in Whole Foods and health food stores, but the majority of soda in the US is made with HFCS.

Really? I know that Pepsi is going to be distributing sugar formulations of Pepsi and Mountain Dew for about 2 months starting this December and that if you can find a store that imports Coke from Mexico, that's made with sugar, but what other major brands have products made with sugar instead of HFCS?

Then you missed the weeks and weeks that they were available the first time.

Yeah, either that or they weren't made available in my area. Either way, Pepsi having 2 "real sugar" products for a limited time doesn't really translate into "most major brands having different versions available now".
