What about steampunk is she interested in? If she's into fashion then try:
http://community.livejournal.com/steamfashion It's also got updates on events and such for nearly everywhere, you may get lucky and find one you could go to.
A really great place to buy clothes and a few home accessories (or just look at awesome stuff) is clockwork couture.
If it's more the story type elements then I recommend watching Steamboy. Or wiki has a good list of steampunk works, books and movies and whatnot.
There's actually a really great book on jewelry that's filled with sections about all sorts of topics. It's just called Steampunk Jewelry. :D
My jewelry is up on raveholt.etsy.com if you want to look. Not a lot is up at the moment, though, since I have a con soon.

Hmm...

I'm actually not a big fan of steampunk *books* as I consider the biggest draw of the genre to be the aesthetic. That said, steer clear of most purported "steampunk" movies...well, simply put, they're terrible (LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, WILD WILD WEST, VAN HELSING, etc.). Most of the movies that have been worth a damn have been...ah, "steampunk-adjacent" is my term for it. Dieselpunk, magepunk, etc.

I know Khross'll fight me on it, but I generally consider steampunk to be defined by the gadgety, Victorian visual aesthetic coupled with a DIY spirit and a genuine concern for both style *and* substance.

That said, a few "steampunk-adjacent" movies that I'd recommend (based purely on aesthetic) are Guillermo del Toro's HELLBOY films (actually, most of del Toro's filmography), Tim Burton's SLEEPY HOLLOW (Victorian and gadget-y), SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW (dieselpunk), and THE GOLDEN COMPASS (Victorian steamagepunk). Maybe more will come to me.

As for video games, I'd suggest NOSTALGIA for the Nintendo DS, and ARCANUM: OF STEAMWORKS AND MAGICK OBSCURA for the PC (if it's not too dated for you).

Well I showed her the Steampunk Laptop and a bunch of the clothes and she went wild so I would assume it is the aesthetic she likes.

I think, perhaps, we should have the "Great Steampunk Debate" ...

Maybe ...

In Heckfire, not Hellfire, I think.

Some of the best steampunk stuff I've seen is gadget-free. There's an attitude of being on the edge of the unknowable where science and religion and magic are just different term for 'how stuff works', you can't just add a few watch parts to a period outfit and call it 'steampunk', it's supposed to be a triumph of technology over reality.

Here's one of my favourites, no gadgetry but still clearly steampunk

Here's another
Image

It's the natural brown leather, the straps, and the brass hardware that does it.

Here's a costumer buddy of mine, not much gadget going on, but is there any question?

I'd love to see this corset made correctly. Maybe that'll be a project of mine. No gadgets.

The Varsity is a well-known Atlanta landmark. It is the largest fast food joint in the world.

The gadgets are accessories for display purposes. That articles of clothing are still identifiably steampunk without them.
