I thought the Kasumi DLC was great. It was fun doing things in a more social setting, even if it was just for a short bit. It was also the time I did a female Shep and made her a total jerk. Now I make her parade around the Normandy 2 in her party dress.

I thought Overlord was rather boring but cruising around the land areas in the Mako was kinda fun. They made the landscape really pretty.

I had to put a hold on ME2 to play through ME1 so I could get the full Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC(which happened to have come out today). The only save file I have is a romanceless Shepard, so I playing through to romance Liara.

Finally got around to downloading the rest of the free DLC, I'm really enjoying the hammerhead hover tank missions.

Also, THANK GOD they fixed scanning. Man it sucked.

Heh a Femshep vs Male Shep debate got started on GAF forums after this was posted:
Image

Me, I think both voice actors gave pretty wooden performances, with the emotional range of a turnip. I really hope they do better in ME3.

I just finished a female ME1 playthrough today(yeah, 10 hours). Hale's performance is very lackluster. Meer does a much better job, IMO.

They removed the speed restriction while scanning.

Yeah. AFTER I beat the game twice.

At release (when I played through the game), you were scanning in molasses in January. During an ice age.

Now, it's actually quite speedy.

An article on how they're using the gathered data from ME2.

Also, confirming it's on the 360 version, at least.

I just bought this finally.

So without spoiling too much (I have not played Mass Effect 1) can anyone give me any insight as to which classes are the most fun to play?

Right now I picked Sentinel but I'm thinking maybe Vanguard or Adept might be better. Sentinel seems like a hybrid and I'm not sure if that's the best idea considering you get 2 team mates. I'm trying to get a feel for the weapon vrs biotic play style.

Do you die a lot as a Vanguard? Not sure how this game plays out, so far I've only fought the first "boss", a mech. I tend to enjoy the direct approach in these games, charge plus shotgun seems to fit the bill nicely. Then again, picking a boss appart as an Adept or Sentinel seems good too. I'm just not into the "stealth" or engineer types.

Vanguard is a fantastic choice for your first playthrough. It will suit your style very well. Charge + Shotgun = Good times! There's a point in the storyline, where you literally get to "pick up" another weapon choice, so you can use that to get a sniper rifle or an assault rifle to really round out your character.

Many like Adept for the versatility.

My first play through I went Vanguard and had a tough time during certain encounters. This might be a good class to pick if you want more of a challenge (keeping in mind that there is based purely on my personal experience with them).

If you do not like the stealth/engineer type classes, avoid Infiltrator and Engineer.

Sentinel is a mix of Engineer and Adept.

Personally, I found good old stock Soldier to be the most enjoyable (although others may say it's boring), because the game was really designed around Shepard being a soldier. Besides, Soldiers have a time-dilation ability (Adrenaline) that makes combat so much easier to manage. This ability alone got me through fire fights that otherwise would have (and did) taken me hours to get through with another class.

Infiltrator is my favorite. I hate the Vanguard because of how weak shotguns are in general(Unless you get up close and personal...which is such a bad idea on the harder difficulties).

Geth Plasma Shotgun in the "Firepower Pack" changes the weakness of the shotgun a great deal.

That said, I prefer infiltrator or soldier.

Infiltrator is my favorite by far. Anti-Material Rifle for the win.

No kidding. M-98 Widow is almost always a one-shot-kill. Even if you miss the headshot. Of course it needs to be -- it loads only a single round at a time, and you can only carry 12 rounds.

Although it's not infiltrator-specific. You can use it on the soldier, too.

My ME2 savegame I have ready for ME3 is an infiltrator, though.

I played Infiltrator the first time and had a blast. My second play was a Vanguard, which was also fun, but more difficult.

I'm giving Vanguard on Veteran level a go for my first time through. We'll see how it turns out. Cool game though.

I found Biotics extremely hard to play on the highest difficulty. The need to punch through armor and shields for powers to work made things very difficult in large encounters. Some levels I just don't see how it would be possible.

I had the most fun as an Infiltrator. Soldier just makes the game a cake-walk.

Does the sniper rifle still do that godawful circular wobbling?
