Try the *77 code on your phone. It may work.

If you don't mind me asking, who's your telco? Maybe I can do a bit of research.

AT&T. I love them. This is the first time they have not been able to fix my problem....they were the ones that knocked off several hundred dollars from my phone bill and gave me free minutes when I went over when we found out my mom had cancer and they did it again when she died.
I've always gotten "above and beyond" from their customer service. Always.
Till today. :(

Ah, its Cell service. See, that's my bad. I missed that in the OP.

If you have an iPhone, there may be an app for call blocking. I know there's one for Android phones. I personally recommend gblocker (if you have an android). It'll allow you to set up conditions for incoming calls. Just a quick search turns up iBlacklist.

But if you have a normal cellphone, you may be sol :( Sorry lady.

Thanks.

Well, since you do have an iPhone, you're not SOL.

You can get that aforementioned app, and configure it to block restricted CLID calls ;)

In addition to any other numbers you'd rather not hear from :)

A call can be traced end-to-end. Happens all the time. The logistics of doing it can be a challenge because of jurisdictional issues, especially with IP based calls, overseas, etc...

Saying they 'can't' isn't a technical limitation. It's legal one, with a heavy logistical layer.

Your service provider (thankfully) cannot execute this type of thing without a warrant from a law enforcement organization. Imagine all of the shenanigans that could happen if this wasn't the case (think like a really evil person here!).

As annoying and frustrating as it is, there really isn't much you can do about it unless they commit a crime. There is a really high chance that the call is coming from overseas, and coming over an IP interface somewhere.

I've had a similar issue, and was just as frustrated as you, and I WORK for my service provider! The good news is, the calls eventually stopped.

Once, long ago, my home number (remember land lines?) was the former fax number of a temp agency. All their hand-outs still listed it as the number to fax time cards to. So every Friday my phone would start ringing off the hook, and of course there would be no one there. And since they were faxes there was no way to call back and say "hey, this isn't the place you need to send that, knock it off".

*hugs*
