Just dinked the door of my car on a car park pillar.

**** ;-p

Been a good day too!

Was pulling through a space, worried I might be getting a bit close to a neighbours car, steered the other way to give him clearance completely failing to see the concrete car park pillar next to me.

Car is parked there now, still touching.

GRumble. Tommorow I'll have to get a jack under it and topple it a half inch away from the pillar so I can pull away without dragging it right down the side of the car.

Any other suggestions? Apart from "learn to drive, ****" of course ;-p

You should be able to steer sharply so the front end of your car moves away from the pillar as you back out of the space. No need for a jack.

Passenger side? My suggestion is "don't let other people drive your car, so long as you don't have a reason to be on the passenger side, you can almost forget about it." At least, that's what I find for the small ding somebody left on my passenger side with a shopping cart.
