Basically a map that visualizes all the murders in London I think for 2010. You can filter the results by weapon type used. You can also click on each one and read the details.

I wonder how hard it would be to do this for my city.

Here's one for San Francisco. It's broken out by crime type.

Lights at night.

My favorite, it maps crime as elevation.

The Los Angeles Times has a Homicide Blog on their website. We're apparently up to 450 murders in LA County, through the beginning of September. They have a link to a blog with descriptions of the circumstances, etc.

It seems to be all murders from 1888, not just in 2010, I think. Hard to tell, if you compare the investigate and about tabs with the actual map.
