Yes, you had a bad experience with a battery in terrible battery conditions (otherwise known as Georgia). I avoid wireless mice like the plague anyways, and so even if it's a legitimate, broadly applied problem/defect common to Logitech mice, I'll never run into it.

I take that back, actually -- I have my Nano, which is wireless, but uses AAA's and barely sips juice. I'm still on my original batteries almost 3 years down the road, now.

Odd. My trackman marble circa 2000 is still going strong and was only replaced a year or two ago by my G9, which is still going strong. But the trackman, an optical mouse, has yet to give up the ghost. And that thing has seen several thousands of hours of use.

I've been using logitech mice exclusively for... a looong time, both at work and at home.

I can honestly say I've never had a single problem with them. The only time I've been compelled to replace/upgrade, is when some cool new device comes out, or I just get tired/bored of what I have.

Currently I have employed the G500 with max weight applied at both work and home.

Yes, yes, I know ...

All sorts of Logitech fans here. I don't like their mice. I really don't like their keyboards either, but that's because Microsoft makes awesome ergonomic keyboards.

No. I've never used a comfortable, or good, Microsoft peripheral.

No, just...no.

They're...moderately functional, I suppose, but that's the best that can be said for them. They're ugly and uncomfortable, lacking in build quality, and hideously designed.

Logitech 4 life, yo.

FarSky:

Logitech doesn't make Ergonomic Keyboards, and contrary to what you think, all of Microsoft's keyboards are very well built. I still own working Natural Elite 1000 keyboards. Likewise, my original Intellimouse Explorer 1.0 still functions. It's almost 20 years old at this point. I've tried Logitech Keyboards, but they don't offer split Ergonomic Keyboards, and they haven't in a very long time.

Microsoft, on the other hand, offers the Natural 4000, which is quite honestly the best keyboard I've ever owned. It's absolutely fantastic for touch typing and gaming.

Too bad there isn't a single Ergonomic Keyboard on their actual website. Which is kind of funny ...

I mean, you should have been tipped of by the image of MS Keyboard and Mouse Combo parading as ...

They're claiming the wave design is ergonomic, but agreed.

I never liked my split ergo keyboard for gaming. It limits the keys accessible to my left hand while my right is mouse-occupied.

That said, it was a first-gen Microsoft Natural, and it's still going, though primarily retired.

Ergonomic keyboards aren't. They twist my hands into an uncomfortable position and are horribly awkward for me to use.

They're rubbish.

I've had the same experience with Microsoft hardware too, they work great and last forever, I have the Habu on my computer which is a very comfortable mouse and I have original Intellimouse Explorer from before they even started giving them the 1.0, 2.0 etc designations which still works great, in fact i'm using it right now as it's my dedicated mouse for my UMPC at work.

Can't we just say they're both good? Some of my old MS Intellimouses were great, used them for years.

Oh right, can't live without conflict on the Internet. Carry on.

Sadly it's extremely difficult to find Logitech's best Ergonomic keyboard as they do not make it anymore. The Logitech Office Comfort Keyboard.

I have no use for split keyboards in any form. That said, I've always used cheap $10 standard keyboards, until I switched to using laptops exclusively. Now I use laptop keyboards.

I struggle with laptop keyboards for some reason. I think its the extremely low angle.

They're rubbish.

My conclusion is that ergonomic keyboards assume a much more closely held keyboard position than I use. My keyboards tend to be either midway on the desk, rather than at the edge, or else I lean/move my chair back in order to extend my elbows more. In any event, the split on most ergo keyboards assumes a much wider elbow stance than I end up using.
