Nope, it works fine left handed.

My question about the move is....is it right handed only? If it is, I and 10% of the population can't play it.

And I will not pay extra for 3D movies because I don't see the 3D effects.

You're a pirate!?

No, you can choose left- or right-handed.

I haven't really posted thoughts yet, due to time. But I have to say that this is the likely the best this kind of motion control (wand-based) is going to be executed. Its 1:1 motion control improves the fun factor exponentially over the Wii's incredibly flawed implementation.

Sports Champions, Sony's ripoff of Wii Sports, is very fun. In particular, I really enjoy Gladiator Duel, and the fact that it's 1:1 means that you actually engage your full body (and have it mean something). It's immersive, and incredibly satisfying. It's also a really good workout. Archery is also quite fun.

The standalone games are, right now, by all accounts ****. Sony's got some great hardware on their hands, but as everyone figured, worthy games will make or break the Move. I've already preordered Sorcery; I hope there are more coming that really utilize the Move's capabilities, and less that are just poorly-handled Wii ports (Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, I'm looking at you), knockoffs, or just out-and-out bad games.

Microsoft's Kinect seems more revolutionary, but I'm worried about the tech behind it...if they pull it off, most likely no one will even remember the Move (or, come next generation, the Wii). That's a terribly large "if," though.

The bottom line is that I enjoy the motion controls, implemented well. They are a nice option to have. But my preferred method remains the standard controller. Motion controls have an inherent problem that can't be solved by nicer tech implementation, namely that games are for rest and relaxation, and motion controls (particularly more involved ones like Move) are increasingly demanding on the player. No one wants to come home from work and waggle around for hours on end in front of the television. Coming home, plopping down on the sofa and shooting the **** out of Nazis with your thumbs is a more relaxing endeavor. Motion controls, even with this advance, remain firmly in the arena of the casual, while standard controllers remain the preferred method of "serious" gaming. I recommend the Move, but don't expect it to replace your DualShock.

Sounds like Sony pulled it off . . so far. Long-term success still hazy.

But yeah, they gotta start putting out more quality Move-specific software. Implementing it into their big titles is a good move (/ahem).

If they release some good quality exercise software, I think motion control devices could replace gym memberships for some people (depending on what they would go to the gym for, of course).

So I decided to bite the bullet and purchase one.

What really sold me were the reports of full body gameplay, which would be a great supplement (and semi-substitute for days when I just cannot drag myself out again after work) to my gym subscription.

So far, I must say that the hardware is very nice, but requires a lot of room. I had to back up probably 10 feet from the camera to get the best response/range of motion on that block stacking game demo. Hopefully it's just that game.

The device itself feels very comfortable and light, and is hella responsive.

It seems like I will need to buy either a sub-navigation controller or a second wand to get the best experience with some games, but eh, so be it.

Best of all, I traded in 10 PS3 games + $20 trade-in special per every 5 games + GS card for another 10% value on top of that, so I got the bundle for no money out of pocket. Sorcery pre-ordered as well.

Do you have the camera set to wide lens? If not, you'll need to be a lot farther away so that your motions aren't reaching out of the camera's range. I think the farthest away I've really needed to be is about 6 feet for Sports Champions (Though the game suggests 8, I've done ok with 6)...Tumble worked fine for me with like 4 feet.

Get the second wand first IMO if you have to make a choice. Any games I've played so far that might use a navigation controller, works just as well with using the regular PS3 controller, and tend to be sit-down games where you can rest it on your lap so it's not that awkward. The second wand though rocks for some of the games.

Yeah, kinda same here lol. I'd realized my 360 hadn't been turned on in nearly 2 years, so I traded all of that stuff in with like 15 games.

Yes, it's set to wide angle. In fact, I'm not sure when you would even need to set it otherwise. Maybe there's a game out there that requires it.

Tumble so far is the only game that requires some odd/awkward maneuvering of the wand, and I think this due to the fact that the game takes the Z-axis more into account, compared to other games. That said, it does have that quick centering option, which is nice.

Speaking of Tumble, man that game gets challenging. I don't know how some of those timed medals can possibly be achieved.

Yeah, I think I just need to break down and buy a second wand. Seems like it will be more fun in the long run, and that way I'll have something for when friends come over.

Every so often the thought of trading in/gifting my dust-collecting 360 pops up, but I ultimately end up striking it down due to two words: Mass Effect. If they ever devise a way to transfer a 360 save to a PS3 (since the game has gone multi-plat), however, then yeah, the 360 will pretty much be gone. Or, if something happens to the franchise of course.

If it's anything like the wii you should be able to make switches, depending on the software title. I play wii left handed. The sports title that comes bundled with the wii allows you to select your handedness, for golf, bowling, baseball, tennis and boxing. Most games you just switch the primary (wiimote) and secondary (nunchuck) in your hands and the game doesn't know the difference.
