No selling states to Israel or anyone else. It'd be a constant annoyance to see, say South Carolina, transform near-overnight into a profitable and soundly fiscally managed entity after getting out from under the BS we typically try to do. Maybe we can just, like, pawn South Carolina, and buy it back after making interest payments on it for a hundred years or so. That sounds more like something we'd actually do.

California then. There's no way it'll turn into a "soundly fiscally managed entity", so that should be annoyance free.

I think you can already do that. I remember when I was a kid seeing a story on the news about some teenage entrepraneur who had sent Bill Clinton a thousand dollar check for spending on certain federal programs. He apparently felt he had a responsibility.
