There's that one person in my life that I am obligated to be nice, polite, and civil to for the sake of the kids. Since I've been pregnant, I have not had the energy to maintain that relationship so I've just sorta let it be and try to have as little to do with that person as possible.
It has been soooooooo nice to not have that emotion/energy succubus to worry about for the past couple of months.
Sadly, every once in awhile there is a rude awakening that said person not only still exists, but says/does things that hurt my feelings or undermine the tentative relationship I've spent so much effort forging with my stepkids, and passive-aggressively/subtly keeps threatening to move away with the kids...keeps reminding them every time something is going well that this is not their home and life is not ok until they live in that other state that she came from....(Nevermind the fact that this is, in fact, THEIR HOME as they have lived here there whole lives and all their family on their dad's side is here and this is what they've known since they were old enough to remember....she keeps convincing them this is not where they belong, when in fact they do.)

I can't do **** about it.

Sometimes, I don't wanna be nice anymore. I wanna be mean. But I can't. So I go cry for a bit, and come to the only safe place I have to rant about it.

Thanks guys.

I'm beginning to think that Nitefox is little more than a damned Yankee, as his response to your rants fails to be appropriately Southern.

My only responses are far too lethal to be useful :(

See, this is not an appropriately Southern response either. Sometimes a person just needs killin'. Or, at the very least, they need to be stumpknocked into some semblance of well behaved and sane.

That's because I'm only half-Southern. >_> <_<

I just read this and I'm inclined to go with the lead pipe version if I could get away with it.

I swear I swear, the ex is the most selfish person i've ever met. It's like she can't fathom that the kids might be happy because mom and dad and a set of grandparents and 2 uncles and and aunt and 3 cousins among others that come to town on a regular basis or all their friends are here, couldn't be the reason they are happy. It's just GOT to be because she his here. And if she lived somewhere else, they would be just as or even more happy!

Lead Pipes are too soft. Might I suggest a nice 16" piece of sch. 40 3/4" ID black iron?

It takes a while, but in those situations, the high road does pay off. I took great care to not say anything about my X to my kids, just told them I'd tell them the whole story after they grew up. Then, when they did grow up, I never had to explain, they knew.

And, if you're as lucky as I am, you'll be able to dance on a grave. :D

I know you have Christian leanings Kate, and as such I must remind you of the most important lesson a preacher ever taught me...
