Go out and abuse imported Maple syrup.

You know, pour it on a cinammon roll or croissant instead of waffles or pancakes. Really show her.

See, Caffeinated Mountain Dew sounds like a good idea, because it gives one a reason to drink the horrid stuff.

However, I'd rather stick to coffee.

Uh... Mountain Dew contains caffeine by default...

Yeah. I can understand why people drink Mountain Dew because of the caffeine...but if someone would drink it willingly without the caffeine...well, I would have to imagine there was something seriously wrong with that person and I would urge them to seek help.

Exactly.

Now, that begs the question, "If you wouldn't drink Mountain Dew without the caffeine, but there are other caffeinated drinks that taste good enough that you would drink them without the caffeine, why not get the best of both worlds and drink them to start with?"

Needless to say, Mountain Dew is not nearly as popular in Canada as it is in the USA.

I never have quite understood why people think Mt. Dew is loaded with caffeine.

It has about 55mg in 12-oz can. Diet Coke is about 45mg, regular Coke ~35mg. None of these are very impressive when you consider that just an ordinary cup of coffee probably has around 100mg. Which, amusingly enough, is about the same a shot of Espresso.

I drink Mt. Dew for the taste.

Also, I'm thinking of locking this thread and issuing warnings for derogatory comments towards a preferred beverage of mine.

Watch it.

I think its about 50% hype, and 50% the combination of sugar and caffiene that give people a buzz.

I can't stand the stuff either. Guaranteed instant headache.
