So I had another doctor appointment today, a further follow up on all my stuff...

Last time my Bad Cholesterol was at 215. Today I got the results of my blood test from a week or so ago: I dropped 70 points, down to 145. /flex

I also got my A1C results back. When first diagnosed I was 11 (or so), last time I was at 6.9, this time I am down to 6.7.

Great work DS, now come beat me about the head and shoulders until I do the same.

Based on the severity of my condition, compare it to the severity of yours... add in excercise amounts.... I really cannot say beating yourself up over it is a good idea.

If your case is more advanced then mine (likely) you could already be doing more for yourself or better for yourself... but it will not affect you as much as it will for me.

I could be worse than you, and vice versa. Just because I am doing good does not even neccessarily mean I have done much to help myself.

I am still watching what I eat, but sadly I am still a lazy ****... the only real change I have made is that I have to walk around campus for a few hours at a time 3 days a week. And the meds I am on are really helpful too. And the doctor hit a winner right on the first try. He has not had to change my diabetes meds at all. He did however have to change my cholesterol meds once.

One word of caution about the meds. Over time they will become less and less effective, requiring you to take more and more of them....

I fell into this trap, until it got to the point where the orals were doing nothing, and had to start on injections, and after a fairly short period of time, they also became less effective.

Losing 65lbs is the best medicine I could ever have taken. My blood sugar has been excellent (A1C was 5.2 last check without any meds).

I did without much exercise at all (that came later). I just dieted hard (under doctors supervision) for 3 months...

I need to weigh myself again, but last check I was around 236.

I am working my way down to 175-225, which is supposed to be my ideal weight range, based on height and bone structure.

Pure awesome, adapting and making changes that quick and sticking with them. Finding out and making the changes was and still is one of the hardest things i had to do. I love food way to much!!

I can relate to food love. I love food too; luckily I like my appendages more.
