The Glade 4.0

I didn't really mind the 5x/week when we were actually progressing and staying competitive with other guilds.

But when you are just spinning your wheels on the same road blocks you've been stuck on for months, and have to three-group (or 3.1-group) x4 raid encounters, the prospect of seeing your weeknight evenings eaten up gets a bit unappealing.

Heh, I remember the days of hardcore EQ raiding...

7 raiding days per week, mandatory attendance at 5/7....

And raids went from 6pm-midnight.

I did it for a few years and had to stop- was too restrictive.

I still raid on and off with the same group, but I can't be a hardcore raider anymore.

I find it's not too bad to set up a balance- I do end up spending a fair amount of my evenings on the computer- but that's after 12-15 hour days at work, and usually after dinner and a movie/TV show with my wife, on the evenings we're not going out.

Taking a break from gaming until you get some other hobbies/habbits up and running, and then adding gaming back in seems to be an effective means of finding balance.

Well I did the deed and disbanded.

I also learned quite a lot about the guild leader of the guild I just left. All sorts of juicy skeletons from a former officer.

Apparently, many two-face personality traits and flat out lies were directed at certain members who chose to leave the guild. Especially if these departures resulted because of disagreeing with the way the guild was being led (which was terribly).

If he even tries to pull that **** with me, I'll make a nice little post on EQ2 Flames in the "Rate a Retard" section telling all.

Don't bother. It's a game. He's a silly little king of a silly little hill. You're there to have fun, not be bogged down by politics and gossip.

Yeah, I know, it just really ticked me off when I heard all the dirt, because these people who bore the brunt were good people, and they cared way more about the guild than the guild leader.

I'll just play stag for a while and see what happens. Rift looks promising.
