Well, we are in the minority sex when it comes to sci-fi/fantasy nerds, Jasmy, so he's at least partially right. A girl geek is popular because we're still somewhat rare! Of course, most men don't like sci-fi either.

While the rest of the world doesn't know we are the future, geeks are still a minority among either sex. So the rest of his point doesn't logically follow.

I go to a lot of Cons. Believe me, compared to a couple of decades ago, the number of women who attend has really shot up. I think it depends on the crowd you hang around with.

I enjoy Firefly. But I have yet to finish the series. Maybe because I don't want to join the angry brigade. :D

I can't say everything Joss Whedon touches turns to gold like some fans believe, but I can say he has done some good stuff. Kirra, if you haven't seen it yet I would ogre-strongly recommend Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog (which is also on Netflix).

You've got some words strung together here, but they don't make sense.

I found it on Netflix and added it to my list. Will watch it after I finish Firefly. Thanks Numbuk :)

Lex, you win the annual award for situational denseness.

Yeah, Kirra, don't you know you're not supposed to enjoy things that statistics show your gender is not supposed to enjoy? Doi.

I'd hold off on that. The year just started, and apparently his dosages are off. It can only get better.

My dosages aren't off. Annual awards are given at the end of the year.

So hard to pick...although they're all great, it's really a toss-up between Jayne Cobb and Malcolm Reynolds.

Shepherd Book isn't far behind.

Yea, I still haven't figured out Shepard yet, he was shot and they treated him on the Alliance ship with no question...

Don't get your hopes up on figuring him out. Lots more clues, but nothing substantial.

(Which really ends up saying everything that needs to be said.)

I can't speak for that book in particular, but most Firefly'verse-based books have been comics.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to get the serenity graphic novels on Kindle, it wouldn't do the art any sort of justice. ;)

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say it's the novelization of the movie?
