Elessar...I'm glad it was cold for that pic...but, all you have to do is put some pontoons on the plane and it would work quite well landing in the blue waters of the carribean
As much as I love the winter, that sounds infinitely better! lol

How tough is it landing it on a lake anyway Ellesar?
Not to bad actually, I was surprised. AS you can probably see from the picture, it was a gorgeous, sunny & calm day which made it awesome for flying. I'll post a pic of the runway the workers have plowed out, but it was about 2800feet long and at least 75 feet wide, which isn't to much smaller than the regular 3500'x100' gravel strips we normally operate out of it. It was of course a bit bumpier than maintained gravel, but nothing to bad. The miners there have done a good job of keeping the ice pretty level and maintained. Just had to make sure we touched down near the starting threshold of the runway, and I used the normal amount of braking to slow the aircraft down. The slippery part was actually on the ramp area they had cleared out we had to do a 180 turn that was a bit skiddish hehe. All in all, a really fun experience that I'm glad I got to do!
I placed a marker on the Glade map of the rough area where the lake is. I lost the coordinates of where it is so this is only a guess
It's basically "the middle of nowhere" though.
