This is why you don't feed the animals.

Would Kate or Rusty be surprised by this?

Some people really need to learn the concept of self restraint.

Would not be surprised at that at all.

Obviously, not all black people act like this. But enough do act like this to create the stereotype. It's unfortunate that in the minds of many, this is typical black behavior.

Just to clarify, I don't consider this typical black behavior...but it still wouldn't surprise me.

Hey let's demonize those big evil corporations that won't build supermarkets in these neighborhoods. Ya know, cause you don't have these idiots on both sides of the counter or anything...

Wow.

I can't even imagine that happening anywhere I've lived.

Where was the store management during that mess?

How are supermarkets related to a culture that thinks it's okay to stand on counters and attack establishment employees?

There have been many calls by "representives" of the black community for greater access to fresh foods and better quality of products. But companies won't put their stores in these areas because this **** is accepted.

In the Old days on the frontier traders would set up forts to do business with the Indians. The forts gave them protection. Maybe they need something similar here.

My friends wrecked a Quizno's because the general manager ripped them off. Apparently, he shortchanges drunks coming back from the bars (they make a killing from last call to about 2am) but they weren't too drunk to do simple math.

Can't imagine only black people should be ashamed of this type of behavior.

That's the thing, they're not ashamed. They also aren't the only ones behaving this way, they're just an overwhelming majority shareholder in videos showcasing it.

Standing amongst the other employees, too shocked to do anything, most likely. And it's probably a good thing.

Exactly! What would you expect a Burger King manager to do in this situation besides call 911?

I'd love to say yes, but sadly, I'd be lying. Fortunately, where we live, people who behave like this still somewhat fear police intervention and there are few places in town where cops wouldn't be on the scene before the fight broke up....so we have stuff like this all the time but not to such extremes in public places for fear of being arrested... Usually it's just a lot of shouting in public places and the property damage and destruction (and gunshots) usually happen on private property or at a niteclub.
In fact, a little over a month ago, when I was looking for a vehicle, a friend of mine and I were on a small car lot. A black lady drove up with her boyfriend, whose car was getting detailed. The black woman hopped out of her vehicle and started screaming at the lady and her daughter who were working in the office, yelling about how she wasn't going to pay for anything because the car wasn't ready yet when it was *supposed* to already be done. The car was less than 10 minutes away from being finished, but the black lady continued to scream and yell and the police showed up just in time because there was about to be a physical confrontation between the daughter of the owner and the black woman. Apparently, the black woman did not want to pay for the car detail, she wanted it for free...we see this a lot down here where minority women (usually not the men) will create a huge public scene about their "customer dissatisfaction" over nothing just so they won't have to pay for a service.

In our sister city, that many minorities would not be able to gather without at least two or three police cars showing up. I remember one friday night about 3 years ago, there was a small "black" club on main street and when several dozen black people left the club (even though nothing was going on) 4 squad cars showed up to direct foot traffic..it was kind of tense.
A few more years of our current administration and more mass exodus of those with money into the suburbs and we will probably be dealing with stuff like what's in the video more frequently and in more public places, like burger king.

*peers into thread*

Well, most of the black people I am acquainted with are polite, intelligent individuals. That doesn't mean I don't pass by many of them that exude the loud and thuggish stereotype; but I don't actually know those instead of making a snap judgment from demeanor, clothing, and the fact that they're blasting music loud enough for me to hear it despite their and my earbuds.

Many of the ones I know are exchange students, though.

I don't care what color you are that behavior should not be tolerated. I don't what the solution is other than pray the cops get there first or can identify the woman afterward.

I wonder though where this happen and if it was CCW state.

It is Spring Break, not that the wild week qualifies as an excuse. I've never seen that kind of behavior in person, but walked into the scene after it was over and the crew was cleaning up. That time it was white kids in Santa Cruz. according to the crew cleaning up - who were mumbling about white trash (expletives deleted).

The crew was white too, so they were complaining about a subset of our culture we laugh at but would rather they behaved.

Wrong.

First, the manager should have been there as soon as things began to get heated to try and de-escalate the situation. Frankly good customer service skills would have probably gone a long way to getting that lady out of the building without destroying it.

Second, if for some reason the woman was completely beyond reasoning with, they could have at least tried to control their own employees and slowed any escalation or egging on that was apparently happening while someone on his team called 911.

Aizle, hahahaha, you poor little misguided-naive sweetheart.
Have you ever been around these types of people at all? There is no reasoning with them and no amount of, *snicker*, "customer service skills" is going to satisfy them.
They WANT to cause a scene and destroy things. That is their main objective to begin with. The initial argument or whatever you think might of been the catalyst was just a red herring...they WANT to fight and cause a scene and nothing you can say or do will stop that from happening.

Also, as the manager, you try and calm-down your employees or call 911 and watch just how fast you have absolutely no control over your employees or any semblance of respect, EVER. You could keep firing your staff, but you'd just wind up rehiring the same types of people or getting fired yourself by someone over you for not doing your job.
Again, you CANNOT stop this type of thing from occuring or change people or modify them...they want drama, they're going to get it and you stand in their way and you will get burned big time.
