Gingrich has a few too many things in his past I think. Plus his affairs and divorce and all that would hurt him with the social conservatives. I would love however to see him in a debate with Obama. He would murder him.

Are you smoking crack? Perry is the only one that Obama could easily just steamroll over after some of his antics. Cain or Gingrich would be a serious threat.


He would also steam-roll Romney, but for different reasons. Regardless of Romney's debate performance, he wouldn't be able to turn out a large enough percentage of conservatives and libertarians.

Children used to have to contribute much more to a family's welfare at a much younger age. I think as a general rule society is too soft on kids these days.

Of course, there are exceptions to this. It used to be two kids could beat the **** out of each other in the schoolyard and not get anything more than detention. Now thy face expulsion and criminal charges. So...yeah. Everything's gone topsy-turvy.

People overestimate the willingness of social conservatives to reject a candidate they otherwise agree with over perceived issues. Despite John Kerry's efforts, Mary Cheney didn't cause them to stay home in 2004.

Yeah, but we just beat the **** out of each other and then went our way either as champion, or defeated.

Today, the little shits bring guns or get pissed and go blow up a building.

Any misgivings over newt are in a Newt vs. Other republicans scenario not in a Newt vs. Obama scenario. I think I lot of republicans are either holding fast to their favored guy (as evidenced by Paul and Romney's unwavering numbers) or still looking for their favored guy (as evidenced by the ebb and flow going from Perry to Cain to Newt.) I think in the end, as things start to settle down and people drop out of the race you'll see more falling in line to a point.

If Paul isn't the nomination I'm voting Obama to speed the process.

It's your vote and if you are comfortable doing that, then you are the one who has to deal with that. Personally I wouldn't want any stake in the ruin he's causing. I feel bad enough having stake in the ruin GWB caused and he had at least a couple good things to level that out.

Mainly I was commenting on how I analyze the polls being taken.
