The Captains of the black market sectors don't get into business because the money is bad. Plus, their business savy, relative to the markets they capitalize on, don't require them to pay any taxes. What could you do with 40% more of your income? Would you consider someone who is able to maintain a 6 figure income while minimizing both state and federal taxes to be financially savy? I know I would.

Depending on the study, you will find that most criminals are of below average intelligence (almost all are of below average wisdom, but that is hard to prove.) Most being 50% plus one, this is probably true.

In addition, one survey of arresting officers stated that 95% of criminals were under the influence at time of arrest. That was the officer's experience and belief, independent testing of the criminals was not performed for this study.

How are you defining "criminal," anyways? The smartest individuals figure out how to screw others while not breaking any laws so society is forced to protect them. Even when they resort to actual crime, well one of my favorite quotes is, "The only people who rob banks are those that are too stupid to forge checks."

This guy became a millionaire through a gambit that has probably killed thousands of children, and it was all perfectly legal.

I don't believe for a second that acting "ethically" is superior in business with how easy it is to dodge culpability by forming a corporation, and when the ire gets to be too much to still turn a profit you can just shut it down and start over with a different name, so everyone forgets.

Criminal defined here is someone arrested, tried, and convicted of a crime above the level of infraction.
