Raltar - you don't need 5k, you need 4k provided you save Anderson. 5k is only if you don't save him. I got 7k doing every possible thing which seems to be the max on a first go. However, I believe you can get it higher in New Game+.

Spoiler:
I know right? Where the hell was Joker going... and after a moment of reflection it leads to a bit of Fridge Horror. They're stranded god knows where with limited supplies, food, water, etc. Two different kinds of protein requirements... They're all doomed to death. Noone knows where they are, and even if someone did, the Relays have been destroyed so noone could get to them in a reasonable amount of time. They're so ****.

Also:

Spoiler:
Isn't there a Relay on the Citadel? Wouldn't that have been just **** epic to have to fight your way to the Citadel, into the Citadel, and to the relay point so they could jump the crucible into the citadel as a giant middle finger to the reapers.

"Oh yeah ****? You think you're all badass and ****? **** WATCH THIS!" BAM!

There is/was? a miniature version of a Relay on it. I don't remember if it was destroyed or not. It also might have only been connected to Ilos.

Spoiler:
Btw the original Normandy apparently had a crew of about 50 people. The Normandy SR-2 is twice the size of the original. That's a lot of people to feed on a crashed ship god knows where.

We should split the spoiler stuff into another thread. Spoillering everything is just getting silly. In fact.

Spectre packs need to stop giving me Krogan Sentinel. Like, for real. I've bought 3 and all three have had Krogan Sentinel.

Absolutely. 99.8% of the game is EPIC(!) in my opinion.

I just hated the ending.

It's definitely worth picking up. I don't think I've ever considered a game a 10. I'd consider ME3 a 10 if not for the idiotic ending. 99.8% of the game is indeed pure EPIC, AWESOME, WIN, AND BADASS for 30-35 hours. Then you get punched in the balls for 5 minutes. The ride is worth it, even with the pain that comes afterwards.

Finally got some quality time in with multiplayer and it's really fun. There's only one mode, it's 10 wave survival with bonus things your team can accomplish on random waves. Playing an infiltrator, I got 7 levels on my very first match. You get +5% Readiness if you successfully complete an entire mission, +1-4% if you wipe early. Bronze matches are pretty faceroll easy. The thing with multiplayer is, other than the lobby, it hardly feels like MP. It just feels like a survival mission in the ME1 DLC.

So if you just want to get 100% readiness for single player, you're looking at 10 finished bronze missions, which would be ~3-4 hours depending on how quickly you finish waves. Of course, you don't need to get 100%, just enough to get your effective readiness over 4k.

It's not random. Waves 3, 6 and 10 have bonus objectives for credits. The only way to get credits. You get around 15k for a complete match on bronze, 30k on silver and 70k on gold. Roughly. If you are maxed out on readiness, you get 5% bonus exp. Also, once your character hits 20(max level for multiplayer) you can promote him to the single player as war assets(75 per character promoted) and it resets that class back to level 1 so you can do it all over again.

Also, your readiness decays by about 2-3% per day but it will never go blow 50%.

Thanks for the clarifications.

The only annoyance I have with MP is the lobby, and the fact that everyone has to hit a button to signal they're ready before the match starts. There seems to be no time limit for this, but you can kick people out with 2 votes.

The objectives on those rounds are random, however. Though, there are only three different objectives(activate console and stand in the area until the bar fills up, deactivate/activate 4 different objects, or kill 4 enemies marked as high value). All come with time limits and if time runs out, you fail the mission completely and the match ends.

Item packs come in three varieties: Recruit, Veteran and Spectre. Recruit has an assortment of supplies(medigel, cobra missile launchers, level 1 ammo mods, rail amps and armor bonuses), upgrades for weapon mods(scopes, barrels) and upgrades to the base weapons you start out with, plus a very small chance at getting a silver(uncommon) item.

Vet packs come with supplies like the recruit packs, but you get more of them, plus you can get level 2 rail amps, ammo and armor upgrades. Plus you always get at least one silver item with a chance of gold.

Spectre packs are the same, with level 3 ammo/rail amps/armor bonus, plus you will always get a gold with a small chance of getting a ultra rare item(black border, N7 specification).

In my experience, there will always be at least one supply item in every pack; Rookie is x1, Veteran x3, and Spectre x5.

Also, class cards include an experience bonus - 12,500 for common, 25,000 for uncommon, and 50,000 for rare.

Exp bonus looks off. I've gotten Krogan Sentinel 3 times and it gave me 100k exp each time.

Hmm.

Maybe it's humans for 12.5k? I know I've had golds for 50 and golds for 100, now that I look at it.

Humans are 12.5k. They are blue outline(common), so it makes sense.

Can you get class unlock cards from recruit packs? I've gotten probably 30 packs so far and nothing but human upgrades. I want my Quarian Infiltrator :[

Yeah, I've gotten 2 turian sentinels from recruit packs. It's pretty rare to get a silver from them, though. What is even worse is that even after you get all of the upgrades for a character class, you keep getting them. Weapons and mods are different, thankfully. But since the exp is on the character cards, they will always show up.

Finally finished my first playthrough. Very satisfying. Up until the very end, it was completely epic. One of the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time. I laughed, I cried, and I even had a couple of WTF moments.

The best part of the experience for me, was the scale of the battles. From the moment the Reapers landed on Earth, and you begin to fight you way off planet, to the final battle, it seemed you were always fighting in the shadow of some huge-ass Reapers. It just all felt so....hopeless. You knew you couldn't save everybody. Hell, you weren't even sure if you could save anybody. And you might be neck-deep in enemies, and fighting for you life, but even if you survived, how the hell were you gonna get passed that huge walking Reaper firing it's giant red laser of death at everything. Bioware really nailed this part of the game, IMHO. There was always something big going on in the background that really made the whole "Reapers are here to destroy all life in the galaxy" vibe stand out.

Also, the sound effects and the soundtrack were amazing. Very, very good, and extremely immersing. The first time I heard a Banshee wail in the Monastary with all the lights off, I nearly pissed myself. And the random conversations you can overhear are really cool. Like the human teenage girl waiting for her parents to arrive at the refugee camp, and the Turian security officer trying to cheer her up. That one and several other ones like it really made things hit home, for me.

Overall, I'm mostly pleased with the Mass Effect story, as a whole. I'm curious to see what they have planned as far as DLC from this point on. Also, multiplayer is amazing good. I was not expecting it to be as much fun, or to be as polished as it is now. It's a really fun experience, and I really think that everyone should try it out. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy it.

Also, I agree with Raltar, the "bromance" scene with Garrus was awesome! I loved it.

If you are going for a particular character or weapon, go with the pack that gives you a 100% chance of getting that type of card(blue for recruit, silver in vet and gold in spectre).

Is there any way to check your multiplayer played time? I just got 100% readiness and I'm just shy of level 19. I've only been playing one character, wondering how long it took.
