You were going good right up until you went over the cliff. We are not forced to mandate them, as they are not a significant problem. We have penalties for irresponsible behavior. That's all that's needed.

That is the part I have issue with.
Hell, if I could legally build a gun range in my basement, I likely would as I both have the space as well as I hate going to public indoor ranges.
I've never advocated irresponsibility. But a responsible adult should not, on their own property, need to be restricted by the fears of those outside.
