His need to get to point B is equally valid as your need to get to point B.
And so he
intentionally chooses a method of getting there that is incredibly slow and inefficient, so that he gets there three times longer?
Didn't you tell me that you DRIVE from Canada to Disney World, instead of using the quickest and most efficient method of travel? Something tells me it takes at least 3 times as long to drive as it does to fly. OMGZORS HYPOCRITE!!!

Furthermore, he chooses to hog a lane of traffic to himself (as is his legal right) which prevents passing, and forces everyone else on the highway to slow down to his speed. He could get over and let the long line of cars past, but he doesn't. And yet the angry people driving 20km/h stuck behind him are somehow the ones being selfish.
If he stays to the right and allows people to pass he's doing what he can. It's then the motorists responsibility to wait (preferably without the tears) for a safe passing opportunity.

I'm sorry, no. His "need" isn't the same, or he'd have driven.
Don't be naive. Your smarter than this. First, there's a benefit to what he's doing that you don't get while driving - exercise. What's more important, his health or your schedule? Secondly, it's foolish to suggest that everyone has the means to drive.

Even if it was the same need, his need is not equal to the needs of the 30+ cars filled with people that he's holding up behind him. And even if that were not the case, he certainly should pull over and let the cars past.
You seem to be needing to focus on a worst case scenario to make your point. 30+ cars full of people? None can pass because of 1 biker? If your argument requires this, it's somewhat telling.

Personally, I think the police need to start handing out tickets for obstructing the flow of traffic and travelling too slowly to anyone who is slowing traffic below the speed limit and refusing to move out of the way so people can pass. There need to be minimum cruising speeds (within 5-10 KM/H of the posted maximum) that are enforced if you're going to hog a lane to yourself, no matter what type of vehicle you are in.
True, because nothing gets cars moving faster than a cop on the side of the road.
